Valentine's Day Spirit Day: All students are invited to dress in pink, red and white or hearts on Tuesday, February 17th in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
Valentine's Day Party: Our class will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Tuesday, February 17th by playing bingo and enjoying a snack together. I will provide a healthy snack that is individually wrapped in its original packaging and labelled as Peanut/Nut Free. Merci beaucoup!
Valentine's Day Card Exchange: Our class will be exchanging Valentine’s Day cards on Tuesday, February 17th. Kindly have your child write a card to each student in our class. Please have them use the class list in their Communication duo tang in their zippered bag. Kindly have your child bring in their cards by or on that date, if they have not already done so. Joyeuses Saint Valentin!
PBIS Dance Party: Our class will be attending a PBIS Dance Party on Tuesday, February 17th in celebration of all of the PAWS cards they earned throughout the months of November, December and January. Félicitations!
Lunar New Year Spirit Day: Students in KC are invited to dress in red and gold on Wednesday, February 18th in recognition of the Lunar New Year. 2026 will be the Year of the Horse!
Winter Wellness Snow Sculpture: Our class will also be going outside to build a snow sculpture on Wednesday, February 18th.
Book Exchange: Our next book exchange will be on Friday, February 20th, Day 2. Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Thursday, February 19th, Day 1. Merci!
Parent-Teacher Interviews: First term parent-teacher interviews will be held on Thursday, March 5th and Friday, March 6th. Kindly note that Sherwood School will be closed to students on Friday, March 6th.
Parent-Teacher Interview Online Booking System: The online booking system to schedule your child's parent-teacher interviews, School Appointments, will open on Thursday, February 19th at 9:00 a.m. and will close on Sunday, March 1st at 9:00 p.m. The link is below:
New! PEI School Milk Foundation Presentation: Our class will be attending a presentation by the PEI School Milk Foundation about the nutritional benefits of milk on Thursday, February 19th.
Olympic Spirit Day: Students in KC are invited to dress in red and white on Friday, February 20th in celebration of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
Show and Share: All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice from home for Show and Share on Friday, February 20th. Kindly assist your child to introduce themselves, identify their toy and describe its colours in French. The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:

Updated! Sherwood School's Home and School Association Cash Draw Fundraiser: Sherwood School's Home and School Association will be hosting a cash draw fundraiser from Monday, February 9th until Monday, March 2nd. Kindly see the envelope containing further information and tickets that was sent home in your child's zippered bag on Monday, February 9th.

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:
Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Anthony and our first assistant will be Avery this week.
Theme: Our theme will be Fruits and Vegetables this week. We will also touch on the Lunar New Year and the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
After-School Pick Up: Kindly park your vehicle in the Cody Banks Arena parking lot and walk over to the gazebo next to Sherwood School to pick up your child after school at 2:35 p.m.. Thank you for helping to keep all students safe!
Assessment and Evaluation: I will be working with each student individually to assess their progress in fine motor, early numeracy and early literacy development again this week. Our daily routine will be adjusted slightly to accommodate this activity.
Fruits and Vegetables: We will be talking about fruits and vegetables during snack and lunch times over the next two weeks. Kindly send a fruit and/or vegetable of your child's liking in their lunch kit every day to encourage them to participate in our conversations! Bon appétit!
Head Lice: Kindly check your child's hair for head lice regularly. Thank you for taking a proactive approach towards reducing the spread at home and at school.
Staff Appreciation Week: Thank you very much to Sherwood School's Home and School Association and all families of our school community for their personalized and thoughtful contributions to Staff Appreciation Week. It is truly a privilege to teach each of your children.
Sweater/Sweatshirt: Kindly send a sweater/sweatshirt with your child if they are wearing a t-shirt. Our classroom is cool when the school doors closest to our classroom are open.
