Diversity Assembly: Our class will be attending Sherwood School's annual Diversity Assembly, performed by the Grade 5 classes, on Tuesday, March 31st at _____.
Easter Egg Show and Share: All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice from home, that fits into a plastic Easter egg, to complement our integrated theme of Easter, for Show and Share on Thursday, April 2nd. A plastic Easter egg will be sent home with your child on Monday, March 30th, in their zippered bag. Kindly assist your child to introduce themselves, identify their toy and describe its colours in French. The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:
Bonjour! Je m’appelle _____. Voici ma/mon _____. C'est _____. Merci!
Good Friday: Kindly note that Sherwood School will be closed on Friday, April 3rd as it will be Islander Day.
Notes
Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:
Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Abby and our first assistant will be Alayna this week.
Theme: Our theme will be Easter this week. We will also touch on April Fools' Day!
Attendance: In accordance with the PBS Attendance and Engagement Procedure, I am required to inform you if your child misses 5 or more days from school in a reporting period. Kindly note that I understand that they may have been sick or that your family may have been away. I already spoke with most parents, during their child's parent-teacher interview, about my responsibility and noted our conversation in PowerSchool, our attendance tracking program. Merci!
Reminder! Rain or Shine Play: Students will be playing outside at recess, rain or shine, except in heavy rain or when the temperature reach a windchill of -20. Kindly ensure your child is dressed appropriately to play in all weather conditions every day.
Spring Coat: Kindly ensure that your child is dressed warmly for outdoor recesses each day, including a spring coat. Recesses will be much more enjoyable for them if they are prepared for the weather.
Splash Pants/Rain Boots: Kindly have your child wear splash pants and rain boots daily until the ground dries out so that they do not get their clothes and shoes wet or muddy in the school yard.
Eye See…Eye Learn! Program: Kindly have your child take advantage of the Eye See … Eye Learn! Program before June 30th, 2026. The Eye See … Eye Learn! program is an eye health and vision awareness program which provides one free eye exam and, if needed, one free pair of glasses to all Kindergarten students across P.E.I. Please refer to the following link for further information:
Head Lice: Kindly check your child's hair for head lice regularly. Thank you for taking a proactive approach towards reducing the spread at home and at school.
Late Arrival: If your child will be late for school, kindly remember that all doors will be locked. Please walk them to the main doors, to be buzzed in. The first morning bell rings at 8:25 a.m. and staff members only supervise students entering all doors until 8:40 a.m. Thank you for helping keep your child safe.
