French Month: Sherwood School will be celebrating French language and culture in a fun and informative way each day this month.
Updated! Sherwood School's Home and School Association Cash Draw Fundraiser: Sherwood School's Home and School Association will be hosting a cash draw fundraiser from Monday, February 9th until Monday, March 2nd. Kindly see the envelope containing further information and tickets that was sent home in your child's zippered bag on Monday, February 9th.
Absence: Madame Danielle Duplessis will be replacing me for the afternoon on Monday, March 2nd as I will be absent. Unfortunately, I will not able to check for email messages or take telephone calls on that date.
Book Exchange: Our next book exchange will be on Tuesday, March 3rd, Day 2. Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Monday, March 2nd, Day 1. Merci!
Home and School Association Meeting: Sherwood School’s next Home and School Association meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at 6:00 p.m. in the school’s Library. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend.
La Journée internationale de la Francophonie Spirit Day: All students are invited to dress in green, purple, red, blue or yellow on Wednesday, March 4th in celebration of International Francophonie Day.
Scholastic Book Fair: Sherwood School’s second Scholastic Book Fair of the year will be held in the school's Library from Thursday, February 26th until Tuesday, March 10th. Our class will be viewing the books on Tuesday, March 3rd at 9:45 a.m. and buying on Wednesday, March 4th at 12:15 p.m. If you would like for your child to purchase a book, kindly send cash or a cheque (payable to Sherwood School) with them in an envelope, clearly labelled with their name and the amount enclosed in it. Please also put your child’s “wish list" in the envelope. Don’t forget to circle the title that they would like to buy.
Show and Share: All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice from home for Show and Share on Thursday, March 5th. Kindly assist your child to introduce themselves, identify their toy and describe its colours in French. The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:
Bonjour! Je m’appelle _____. Voici ma/mon _____. C'est _____. Merci!
Parent-Teacher Interviews: Thank you for scheduling your child’s parent-teacher interview online. I look forward to meeting with you on Thursday, March 5th or Friday, March 6th to discuss their progress to date.
Sherwood School Closed to Students: Kindly note that Sherwood School will be closed to students on Friday, March 6th due to Parent-Teacher Interviews.
Skating: Our class will be going skating on Tuesday, March 10th from 1:35 - 2:20 p.m. at the Cody Banks Arena, as part of our Physical Education curriculum. We will be leaving the school at 1:30 p.m. and returning by 2:25 p.m. Kindly write me a note in your child's communication duo tang by Wednesday, March 4th, if your child will need to borrow skates and/or a helmet from the school. Please complete and return the permission form that will be sent home in your child's zippered bag in the coming days. Merci beaucoup!
Parents are invited to help tie skates and enjoy a skate with our grade level. Please note that helmets must be worn on the ice by everyone.

Eye See…Eye Learn! Program: Kindly have your child take advantage of the Eye See … Eye Learn! Program before June 30th, 2026. The Eye See … Eye Learn! program is an eye health and vision awareness program which provides one free eye exam and, if needed, one free pair of glasses to all Kindergarten students across P.E.I. Please refer to the following link for further information:
Head Lice: Kindly check your child's hair for head lice regularly. Thank you for taking a proactive approach towards reducing the spread at home and at school.
Parents to Speak about Occupation/Hobby: Parents, you are formally invited to speak to our class about your hobby or occupation. Kindly write me a note in your child’s Communication Duo-tang to schedule a 30 minute block. Merci beaucoup!
