Great Sherwood School Kindness Challenge: Our class will continue to participate in the Great Sherwood School Kindness Challenge as a class at school.  Our goal will be to complete 10 kindness challenges by Monday, April 27th to earn a school wide reward on Thursday, April 30th.

Students are also invited to complete the challenge individually at home too.  Kindly send your child's challenge sheet back to school, in their zippered bag, by Monday, April 27th.  Merci!

Book Exchange: Our next book exchange will be on Tuesday, April 21st, Day 2.  Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Monday, April 20th, Day 1.  Merci!

Earth Day Spirit Day: Students are invited to dress in blue and green on Wednesday, April 22nd in celebration of Earth Day.  This year's Earth Day theme is Conscious Consumption.  Canadians are encouraged to consume less, but better, in order to reduce our impact on the planet.

Litterless Snack/Lunch: Students are challenged to bring a litterless snack/lunch on Wednesday, April 22nd in recognition of Earth Day.

Rosedale Park: Our class will be walking to Rosedale Park from 12:15 - 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22nd in celebration of our integrated Spring Activities unit and Earth Day.

Onesie or Pajama Day: Students are invited to wear a onesie or pajamas and bring a stuffed toy on Thursday, April 23rd, in celebration of earning sixty pom poms in our French Oral Language Incentive Jar.  We will also watch a short French show while we eat lunch. 

Show and Share: All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice from home for Show and Share on Friday, April 24th.  Kindly assist your child to introduce themselves, identify their toy and describe its colours in French.  The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:

Bonjour!  Je m’appelle _____.  Voici ma/mon _____.  C'est _____.  Merci!

Notes

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:

Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Xavier and our first assistant will be Zyrra this week.

Theme: Our theme will continue to be Spring this week.  We will also touch on Earth Day.

French Oral Language Incentive Jar: Our class earned sixty pom poms in our French Oral Language Incentive Jar!  They earned a total of 6 rewards, one for every 10 pom poms put into the jar!  We will enjoy one or two rewards each day this week, according to the list of possibilities that we brainstormed together.  Félicitations!

Reminder!  Rain or Shine Play: Students will be playing outside at recess, rain or shine, except in heavy rain or when the temperature reach a windchill of -20°. Kindly ensure that your child is dressed appropriately to play in all weather conditions every day.

Spring Coat: Kindly have your child wear a spring coat every day so that they are warm and dry while playing outside at recess.

Splash Pants/Rain Boots: Kindly have your child wear splash pants and rain boots every day, until the ground dries up, so that they are warm and dry while playing on the schoolyard at recess. 

Water Bottle: Kindly remember to send a filled water bottle with your child each day.  Merci beaucoup!
