Pink Shirt Day: All students are invited to wear pink shirts on Wednesday, February 25th to demonstrate their awareness of bullying prevention at our school, in our community and online. The 2026 theme, Sprinkle Kindness, is a playful reminder that kindness grows when it is shared.
Absence: Madame Danielle Duplessis will be replacing me for the day on Thursday, February 26th as I will be absent. Unfortunately, I will not able to check for email messages or take telephone calls on that date.
Show and Share: All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice from home for Show and Share on Friday, February 27th. Kindly assist your child to introduce themselves, identify their toy and describe its colours in French. The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:

DiverseCity in Schools Event: Our class will be attending Sherwood School's DiverseCity in Schools Event on the afternoon of Friday, February 27th. We will be playing games and watching a performance.
Parent-Teacher Interviews: First term parent-teacher interviews will be held on Thursday, March 5th and Friday, March 6th. Kindly note that Sherwood School will be closed to students on Friday, March 6th.
Parent-Teacher Interview Online Booking System: The online booking system to schedule your child's parent-teacher interviews, School Appointments, opened on Thursday, February 19th at 9:00 a.m. and will close on Sunday, March 1st at 9:00 p.m. The link is below:
Book Exchange: Our next book exchange will be on Monday, March 2nd, Day 2. Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Friday, February 27th, Day 1. Merci!
Updated! Sherwood School's Home and School Association Cash Draw Fundraiser: Sherwood School's Home and School Association will be hosting a cash draw fundraiser from Monday, February 9th until Monday, March 2nd. Kindly see the envelope containing further information and tickets that was sent home in your child's zippered bag on Monday, February 9th.

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:
Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Nolan and our first assistant will be Thomas D. this week.
Theme: Our theme will be Fruits and Vegetables this again this week. We will also touch on Pink Shirt Day.
After-School Pick Up: Kindly park your vehicle in the Cody Banks Arena parking lot and walk over to the gazebo next to Sherwood School to pick up your child after school at 2:35 p.m.. Thank you for helping to keep all students safe!
Assessment and Evaluation: I will be working with each student individually to assess their progress in fine motor, early numeracy and early literacy development again this week. Our daily routine will be adjusted slightly to accommodate this activity.
Fruits and Vegetables: We will be talking about fruits and vegetables during snack and lunch times over the next two weeks. Kindly send a fruit and/or vegetable of your child's liking in their lunch kit every day to encourage them to participate in our conversations! Bon appétit!
Head Lice: Kindly check your child's hair for head lice regularly. Thank you for taking a proactive approach towards reducing the spread at home and at school.
Sweater/Sweatshirt: Kindly send a sweater/sweatshirt with your child if they are wearing a t-shirt. Our classroom is cool when the school doors closest to our classroom are open.
