Monday, June 15th - Day 3 (Music)
Number Bingo: Our class will be playing Number Bingo (1 to 10) on this date.
Hopscotch: Our class will also be playing hopscotch on this date.
Number Blocks: Our class will be watching an episode of Number Blocks in French while we eat lunch on this date.
Tuesday, June 16th - Day 4 (Classroom Support and Physical Education)
Library Book Return Deadline: Kindly have your child return all of their library books by or on this date. Merci beaucoup!
Dinosaur Day: Students are invited to wear dinosaur themed clothing or bring a small toy dinosaur on this date.
Prehistoric Island Tours Presentation about Dinosaurs: Our class will be listening to a presentation by Prehistoric Island Tours about dinosaurs from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on this date.
Dinosaur Show and Share: All students are invited to use their dinosaur themed clothing or toy dinosaur for Show and Share on this date. Kindly assist your child to introduce themselves, identify their toy and describe its colours in French. The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:
Bonjour! Je m’appelle _____. Voici ma/mon _____. C'est _____. Merci!
Please remember to not send toys with your child on days other than Show and Share. Merci beaucoup!
Wednesday, June 17th - Day 5 (No Specialist Class)
Field Trip to Victoria Park: Our class will be going to Victoria Park on this date. (The rain date will be on Thursday, June 18th.) We will be travelling by school bus, departing from the school at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 1:30 p.m. Kindly ensure that your child is dressed comfortably for the weather, including a sun hat, sunglasses, t-shirt, shorts/pants, sweater/sweatshirt, socks and sneakers. Please also apply unscented sunscreen on them at home. Kindly also pack your child's water bottle, lunch kit, towel and full change of clothes (in a large Ziploc bag) in their backpack. We will be eating a picnic lunch at Victoria Park. It is sure to be a fun day for all!
Thursday, June 18th - Day 6 (Classroom Support and Physical Education)
Class Birthday Party: Our class will be celebrating our birthdays on this date by playing party games and enjoying a snack together. I will provide miniature cupcakes that are labelled as Dairy, Gluten, Nut and Peanut Free.
Friday, June 19th - Day 1 (Learning Buddies)
Hat Day: All students are invited to wear a hat on this date.
Sports Day: Our class will be participating in Sherwood School's Annual Sports Day on this date from 9:15 - 10:10 a.m. Kindly ensure that your child is dressed comfortably for the weather, including a sun hat, sunglasses, t-shirt, shorts/pants, sweater/sweatshirt, socks and sneakers. Please also apply unscented sunscreen on your child at home. It’s going to be a fun-filled time!
Sherwood Cinema: Our class will be watching Zootopia 1 in French and snacking chips or popcorn with the other French Immersion Kindergarten classes on this date.

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:
Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Zyrra and our first assistant will be Abby this week.
Theme: Our theme will be Summer this week and next. We will also touch on Community Helpers again.
Eye See…Eye Learn! Program: Kindly have your child take advantage of the Eye See … Eye Learn! Program before June 30th, 2026. The Eye See … Eye Learn! program is an eye health and vision awareness program which provides one free eye exam and, if needed, one free pair of glasses to all Kindergarten students across P.E.I. Please refer to the following link for further information:
Sun Hat/Sunglasses: Kindly pack a sun hat and sunglasses in your child’s backpack, if you would like your child to wear them during recess times. Merci!
Sunscreen: Kindly apply unscented sunscreen on your child at home, if you would like your child to have it on at school. Merci!
Sweater/Sweatshirt: Kindly send a sweater/sweatshirt with your child if your child will be wearing a t-shirt. Our classroom is climate controlled and can be cool at times.
Water Bottle: Kindly remember to send a filled water bottle with your child each day. Merci beaucoup!
Outdoor Free Play: As the weather gets warmer, our class will be starting to walk to Centennial or Rosedale Parks more regularly for our free play time between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Kindly keep these times in mind, if you plan on picking your child up early from school. We will always be back to Sherwood School in time for the first afternoon dismissal bell rings, which rings at 2:35 p.m.
Payment for Field Trips: Payment for your child's field trips can be made online at Sherwood HotLunches or by cash until Tuesday, June 23rd. If paying by cash, kindly send exact change in an envelope, clearly labelled with your child’s name on it and the purpose of the payment. The fee for your child's End-of-Year Activities is $20.00.
