Notes:
Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:
Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Abby and our first assistant will be Alayna this week.
Theme: Our theme will be Family Holiday Celebrations for the next three weeks. We will touch on Christmas, Diwali, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Kindly write me a note in your child's communication duo tang by Tuesday, December 2nd if your family celebrates another holiday as I would like to include it in our integrated theme. Merci!
Bedtime Routine: With three upcoming 5-day weeks of school before the Holiday Break, your child will benefit from a regular bedtime routine each evening. Being well rested will help prepare them to fully engage and participate in our busy school day together the next morning.
Early Closure Dismissal Routine: With the arrival of winter weather, kindly review your child's early closure dismissal routine with them. Please write me a note in your child's communication duo-tang to request a new Early Closure Form, if their routine has changed since September. In the event of an early closure, either myself or my substitute teacher will follow the routine indicated on your child's Early Closure Form and will not be able to check for email messages or take telephone calls.
Families Show and Share: Thank you for emailing me a photograph of one of your child's immediate family members for our integrated families themed Show and Share on Friday, November 28th. All students were very excited to tell the class about their family member. Merci beaucoup!
Kindly find the link to our slideshow below. Some students asked to show it to their families!
Families Themed Show and Share
Head Lice: Kindly check your child's hair for head lice regularly. Thank you for taking a proactive approach towards reducing the spread at home and at school.
Illness: Kindly assess your child's overall health each morning, before sending them to school. If they are sick, please keep them at home to rest and recuperate. In doing so, you are reducing the spread of illness amongst all members of our classroom community.
Water Bottle: Kindly remember to send a filled water bottle with your child each day. Merci beaucoup!
Winter Clothing: Kindly ensure that your child is dressed warmly for outdoor recess every day, including snow pants, winter boots, a winter coat, a neck warmer/scarf, a hat and mittens/gloves. Recess will be much more enjoyable for them if they are dressed appropriately for the weather. Please remember to label all of your child's winter clothing as well. Merci!
Independence: Kindly have your child practice getting dressed in their winter clothing at home so that they can get dressed for outdoor recesses and afternoon dismissal as easily and independently as possible at school. Merci beaucoup!
Throughout our Winter Clothing theme, we will be talking about the following order to get dressed in winter clothing:
snow pants
boots
coat
neck warmer/scarf
hat
mittens/gloves
Extra Hat and Mittens/Gloves: Kindly double-check that your child has an extra hat and an extra pair of mittens/gloves in their backpack each day. Please remember to label them too! Merci!
