Senior Primary Grandparents' Day - 20 June

A Celebration of Creativity and Connection

On Friday 20 June, we warmly welcomed grandparents and grand special friends to the Expressive Arts Centre for our very first Senior Primary Grandparents' Day, and what a memorable occasion it was!

The day served as a joyful celebration of the school’s vibrant artistic programme, offering a glimpse into the creative talents being nurtured across the senior primary grades. Guests were treated to a rich and varied programme of performances, beginning with a sneak peek of this term’s Grade 4 and Grade 5 showcase productions. The young performers demonstrated both confidence and flair, offering just enough of a taste to build anticipation for the full productions to come.

Music featured prominently throughout the morning, with a variety of solo and ensemble performances highlighting the depth and breadth of the children’s musical development. Two dance pieces, choreographed especially for the occasion, added energy and movement to the morning’s offerings, drawing appreciative applause from the audience.

A particular highlight was the Grade 6 and 7 choral verse presentations, which had grandparents laughing, smiling, and thoroughly enjoying the spirited performances. Their showcase also incorporated strong elements of dance and music, affirming the interdisciplinary nature of the school’s expressive arts curriculum.

In addition to the live performances, the corridors of the EAC were transformed into a dynamic gallery space, exhibiting the senior primary learners’ visual art from throughout the term. The walls came alive with colour, texture and imagination, attracting many an admiring eye from the art-loving visitors.

This inaugural Senior Primary Grandparent’s Day was a resounding success, a morning filled with creativity, connection and pride. Judging by the warmth and enthusiasm with which it was received, it certainly won’t be the last.

Special memories were made by special people in a truly special place.
