Junior Primary Mini Comrades - 27 June
A Joyful Dash to End the Term
The final day of term ended on a high-energy note as the Junior Primary children laced up their running shoes and took part in one of Clifton’s most loved traditions, the Mini Comrades. With Headmaster’s Woods transformed into a playful running course complete with hay bales and obstacle elements, the stage was set for a morning of fun, fitness, and festive spirit.
In true Comrades fashion, the races began with Mr Elvis Kalika’s legendary “cock-a-doodle-do!”, a cherished Clifton ritual that brings smiles and giggles to runners and spectators alike. The children, full of determination and excitement, ran with joy and purpose, cheered on by parents, teachers, and their peers.
All JP children from Grades 1 to 3 participated, with the focus on personal perseverance and enjoyment. In Grades 2 and 3, laps were recorded to gently encourage positive competition, while in Grade 1, the goal was simply to keep moving and have fun. The spirit of the event reflected Clifton’s values of bravery, perseverance, and wholehearted play.
After the children’s races, the event concluded with the ever-popular parents' and teachers’ races, bringing the community together in good humour and camaraderie.
A big thank you to our Parents’ Association for keeping us fuelled with delicious egg and bacon rolls, and to all families who contributed so generously via sponsorships. The funds raised will go towards our Junior Primary wish list, supporting continued growth in this special part of the school.
Congratulations to every runner – we are incredibly proud of your effort and enthusiasm. What a wonderful way to end the term!
