Clifton hosted the Inter-Schools Cross Country event last Friday and our runners produced their best results yet with 48 of our 62 entries finishing in the top ten across the age groups.
The Pre-School Duiker Dash was a wonderful occasion with mums and dads being led along the adventure trail by their little ones. Rebecca and Guy Robertson added delightful musical entertainment to the evening.

Grandparents' Day has been a highlight for many children and it was a pleasure to host so many grannies and grandads at Clifton last week. The performances by the children were a real treat and a taste of what lay ahead for this week’s JP music recital and the SP showcases.

Pentecost Sunday
Rev Christopher Meyer, the Michaelhouse Chaplain led an uplifting and memorable Pentecost service on Sunday evening 8 June. The congregation will long remember forget the message in the 9-fruit salad. A huge vote of thanks to Megan James, the parents’ prayer group and, of course, to Chris for addressing our spiritual needs.
Marketing
Our recent Winterton marketing event was held at Spoienkop Lodge and thanks to the Heron family for hosting the gathering. We look forward to warmly welcoming more Winterton children and their families into the Clifton community in the future.
Adventure Trail
Last week-end a group of boarders: Oliver, Ukho, Lukholo and Okuhle rode a few circuits of the trail to practice safely navigating the technical sections on their bicycles.
The boys wrote the most delightful notes after their ride, and it is a pleasure to share a few excerpts with you:
“ I loved the bike track…I fell over five times, but I’m OK”
“ I really loved the bike track , especially the Big Dropper”
“ We rode along the track to the fun area below the JP. Then we did the Devil’s Backbone….a really fun day out”
“ I like the bike track with its ups and downs….but I didn’t like my bike because it had no brakes….”
“ ….sorry about my supper on this letter”
A reminder that in the interests of safety, we cannot allow other users onto the trail other than our Clifton children and staff. Parents and community members will be invited to ride the trail on scheduled occasions in the future.
Clifton children who are unfamiliar with or not yet confident on the route should please ride with a peer who is confident and already familiar with the trail.
NB: Helmets are compulsory when riding on the trail.
