Marimbas & Band - Termly Reflection
Our Clifton band performed at the Wembley Music Festival, sharing the stage with top high schools from the region. As one of the few primary schools invited to participate, it was a true honour and a memorable milestone for our young musicians.
Our talented Grade 6 and 7 marimba bands impressed the audience with their renditions of songs such as ‘Mgarandega/Alone’ and ‘Show Me the Way’, showcasing both their technical skill and musicality. The senior marimba band followed with vibrant and energetic performances of modern hits like ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Girls Like You’, which had the audience tapping along.
The musical momentum continued at our end-of-term assembly, where the band delighted the school and community with two captivating performances, including ‘Calm Down’ and the ever-popular ‘Just the Two of Us’. These performances were not only entertaining but also deeply moving, reflecting the dedication and hard work of each child involved.
Throughout the term, the musicians have gained far more than just musical proficiency. The experience of preparing and performing has taught them invaluable life skills—teamwork, commitment, self-confidence, and the pure joy of sharing their talent with others. They’ve learned how to listen, collaborate, and express themselves through rhythm and melody.
We are incredibly proud of our marimba and band players and the music staff who have guided them so passionately. Their performances this term have left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege to hear them—and we look forward to many more moments of musical magic in the future.
