Choir Performance at St Anne's - 7 May
On Wednesday evening, our Clifton Choir took to the stage at St Anne’s Diocesan College in Hilton for a remarkable choral showcase that will remain in the memories of all who attended. Our talented choristers opened the evening with a beautiful and spirited performance, warmly received by a large and appreciative audience. Their carefully selected repertoire showcased the full range of their musical ability, featuring angelic harmonies, lively and joyful pieces, and songs that struck a perfect balance between fun and finesse. It was a proud moment for Clifton, with our boys and girls performing with confidence, charm and a palpable love for music.
Following Clifton’s opening set, the stage was gracefully taken by the host school, the St Anne’s choir. Their performance was nothing short of breathtaking. With a choir of considerable size, each member exuded poise and composure, presenting a masterclass in discipline and musical elegance. Their rendition of classical choral pieces and spirituals captivated the audience, many of whom were visibly moved by the emotive power of their singing. The St Anne’s choristers exemplified what can be achieved with dedication and refinement, offering our young singers an inspiring glimpse of the heights they may one day reach.
The evening concluded with a dynamic performance by the Midlands Youth Choir, whose diverse and contemporary programme brought an electrifying close to the event. From classical choral works to modern compositions and an exuberant tribute to the iconic band Queen, their versatility and stage presence truly stole the show. We extend heartfelt thanks to St Anne’s for their generous hospitality and to our dedicated music staff, Mr Fibiano Chapatha and Mrs Donna Moor, for their continued commitment to nurturing the talents of our young singers. Though the evening ran late, it was an enriching experience for all and a testament to the joy and inspiration that music can bring.
