Buzzing Through the Term
What a joyful and adventure-filled term it has been in the Bee Class! Our little ones have grown in confidence, independence, and curiosity as they explored, played, created, and connected with one another.
The Fireflies have truly shone this term! Under the gentle guidance of Miss Hudson, this busy, bright, and brilliant bunch has grown in leaps and bounds—learning through play, exploration, discovery, and song. Each day has been filled with curiosity and joy, as the children have dived headfirst into the magic of early learning.
A Joyful Dash to End the Term
The final day of term ended on a high-energy note as the Junior Primary children laced up their running shoes and took part in one of Clifton’s most loved traditions, the Mini Comrades. With Headmaster’s Woods transformed into a playful running course complete with hay bales and obstacle elements, the stage was set for a morning of fun, fitness, and festive spirit.
Two Champ buses full of excited ‘Chameleons’ and ‘Frogs’ set off from Clifton early Thursday morning, buzzing with excitement as they made their way towards the mountains and Excelsior Farm. Along the scenic route, the children spotted the sparkling Spring Grove Dam and even caught a glimpse of snow on the distant Drakensberg – a magical start to the day!

A Blast-Off to Remember!
To end off our exciting space theme, the Grade 2s celebrated Space Day in true explorer style on the 18 June. Dressed as space adventurers, the children were buzzing with excitement as they dived into a final day of discovery.
A Celebration of Community and Culture at Dusk
The Clifton Pre-School Duiker Dash, held on 16 June, was a joyful celebration of community spirit, connection, and outdoor adventure. True to Clifton’s commitment to nurturing a strong sense of belonging and shared experience, the event brought together Pre-School families for an unforgettable dusk run filled with laughter, discovery, and forest magic.
It’s well known in the Clifton community that one of the most highly anticipated events on the Grade 2 calendar is the trip to Spirit of Adventure in Shongweni. Each year, the new Grade 2s eagerly look forward to Term 2, and year after year, the experience never disappoints.
The Grade one children arrived at school bright and early with their bags bursting, in anticipation for their second overnight trip. We had a smooth drive to Eston, and upon arrival, they all quickly settled in, warmly welcomed by the outstanding and kind facilitators. The sun was out and they were quick to change into their cozzies and head for the small dam, to gather water creatures in their nets and buckets
On Friday 30th May, the Grade one children took centre stage when they arrived at school in their magnificent transport creations. Some flew, some chugged and others sped into the Junior Primary playground, capturing the attention of everyone around them.
Excitement was high as the Chameleon and Frog classes boarded the Clifton Champ buses for their much-anticipated outing to a Midlands Meander favourite, Piggly Wiggly.
An Evening of Tote Bag Painting, Creativity, and Celebrating Our Wonderful Mums
An evening filled with painting, creativity, and heartfelt connection brought our precious Mums and Grade 0 children together in the most beautiful way. The little ones had been eagerly counting down the days until this special evening dedicated to their Mums. Arriving at school just as the sun began to set and leaving under the stars made the event feel extra magical.
An Unforgettable Three-Day Journey into Nature
Zingela Game Reserve recently came alive with the sounds of laughter, discovery, and adventure as a group of energetic Grade 3 champs set off on a three-day excursion into the heart of the bush. With eager anticipation, the children embarked on a journey that not only offered thrills and excitement but also set the perfect tone for their upcoming theme, Jock of the Bushveld.
A maritime disaster set in the early 1900s provided the backdrop for a morning of fun, learning, and imagination as the Grade 3 children stepped back in time aboard the RMS Titanic! As part of our theme for the term, the girls and boys explored the world of this famous ship, which tragically sank on its maiden voyage in 1912.
