Rationale:
As an HEI, it is the duty of BulSU to provide and deliver quality instruction to their students. But this was gravely affected by the pandemic brought about by COVID 19. In order to come up with responsive solutions and continue with its mandate, BulSU adheres to the call of CHEd in using the Flexible Learning Modality. If the goal is to deliver quality education that is sensitive to the needs of the current situation, BulSU must be innovative in performing its role and complement the needs of the students. In its initial offering and tedious preparation, it is essential to investigate the effectiveness of its implementation as well as the factors that might have boiled down the smooth transition. It is the aim of this study to further identify experiences and problems encountered in the implementation of Flexible Learning that may serve as a precedent in making the BulSU community and its system more resilient, productive, competent, and more sensitive towards the plight of its students.
As part of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, it is the task of the researchers to evaluate guidelines being implemented. This study will evaluate the guidelines on the implementation of Flexible Learning Modalities of Bulacan State University.
Objectives:
The study intends to:
measure the impact of the pandemic and the sudden switch of learning modality;
identify common problems and mitigations in the effective implementation;
evaluate the different factors (efficiency, effectiveness, opportunities, and challenges) that could have to arise due to the challenging situations;
formulate possible interventions and more sustainable solutions that could benefit BulSU and other HEI towards innovative actions to the current and future problems in case the pandemic may prolong.
Scope:
The study will cover all the colleges main and external campuses of Bulacan State University with its administrators, faculty, students, and parents. The study will be conducted at end of the first semester school year 2020-2021 by evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of its implementation. The study will also find out the opportunities and challenges encountered by the stakeholders of the Uniiversity.
Research method:
The study will utilize a convergent design mixed method research. Quantitative data will be gathered using a researcher-made questionnaire that will evaluated the efficiency and effectiveness of the implementation of FML. A qualitative data will be gathered through set of interview questions to identify the opportunities and challenges encountered by the stakeholders in the implementation of FML.
Expected Output of Research Project:
The result of the study will be used to formulate sustainable solutions that could benefit BulSU and other HEI towards innovative actions to the current and future problems in case the pandemic may prolong.
