In response to the call of the government to cooperate and make appropriate measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of Bulacan State University Community (“University”), the University President suspended the classes at all levels until May 30, 2020.
In consideration of the foregoing, so as to operate in a manner that prioritizes the health and safety of its students, faculty and staff the university decided to move the opening of classes for Academic Year 2020-2021 to September 2020. This approved the adjustment of the Academic Calendar Year for the Academic Year 2020 – 2021 for the Bulacan State University will inevitably impact the teaching personnel of the institution in particular, the part-time faculty.
The BulSU Administration likewise decided to suspend the offering of courses for Midyear Term 2020 due to health hazards that the pandemic is posing and causing. The three (3) months break prior to the start of the next Academic Year inevitably has affected the psychological, emotional, physical, and most especially the financial status of the non-regular faculty.
The ACAWP 2020 is intended to provide means for non-regular faculty to augment their financial need during the long period of “NO WORK, NO PAY '' status. On the other hand, the University can use the opportunity to prepare for the implementation of the “New Normal” in education. This program will bring aggressive research engagements and instruction enhancement programs such as quality assurance documentation, curriculum modification, and development, preparation of outcomes-based syllabi, development of instructional materials, and construction/validation of departmentalized term examinations for the faculty in the new learning set-up. The weekly schedule must reflect the component of the 30 hrs. /week workload.
The proposed guidelines for the program will ensure that the Non-regular faculty members who will be participating in any of the component programs will produce the desired deliverables/outputs and contribute to the realization of the objective of the program.
