To reduce disputes over previously approved and paid additional hours, here are the updated BruntWork guidelines:
IMPORTANT:
Explicit Written Approval: Approval must now include the date, time, and number of additional hours. The client must respond with their approval.
No Recycled Approvals: BruntWork will no longer accept recycled client approvals. Each approval must be fresh. For example, additional hours requested within the week must be approved within the same week or the previous week, unless explicitly stated in a previous approval email from weeks or months prior that the additional hours would fall within this week.
Blanket Approvals: Statements such as "You may take extra hours and I'll pay for it" are acceptable for logging unscheduled shifts in FDTR, but explicit written approval is required within 24-48 hours. If explicit written approval is not provided within 48 hours, the SSP should delete the staff's timesheet.
Emphasized Action in Approval Email: The approval email has been modified to emphasize action instead of just serving as an FYI.
These changes are now reflected in the BW Info Hub: BW Info Hub - Recording Additional Hours.

Thank you for your attention to these updates.
OVERTIME PROCEDURE AND GUIDELINES:
What happens if my client requires me to work additional hours outside my shift schedule? In order for additional out-of-shift hours to be approved by your Staff Services Partner:
You must also send the client an email and cc your Staff Services Partner and the Client Success Manager to confirm that you will be working those approved additional hours.
You must receive explicit written approval to work those additional hours, which the client will be billed for.
You must log those hours in FastDTR as an unscheduled timesheet, and upload the screenshot proof of the approval from your client.
Do not upload recycled client approvals.
Any additional hours logged without explicit written approval will be deleted.
Blanket approvals are acceptable as long as explicit written approval is provided after the 24-48 hour period.
How do I log my additional hours in FastDTR? Log your additional hours in FastDTR by:
Time-in as "Unscheduled".
Select the client you are rendering the additional hours for in the pop-up window.
Tick the box next to "Additional Hours".
Click "Time-out" when done.
Leave a comment in the end-of-shift summary, for example, "My client has approved 2 hours of overtime".
