To help you manage Basecamp more effectively, simply go to Basecamp’s Personal Settings and adjust the desired Notification. Also, I’ve outlined a step-by-step process below to organize your Basecamp messages in Zoho Mail or Gmail.
Use Notifications Wisely: Review your notification settings in Basecamp to only receive alerts for essential updates, helping to reduce message overload.
If you are using a PC:
Go to Basecamp,
Click your Profile Photo,
Click Change the Change Notification Settings
Choose the desired Notification Setting (ex: Only notify me when someone sends me a Ping or @mentions me. Basecamp will only send you a notification when someone sends you a Ping or @mentions you. You can check the Hey! menu anytime to see what else is new for you.)
If you are using a Mobile Phone:
Go to Basecamp,
Choose Personal Settings,
Choose the desired Notification Setting
Schedule Time for Basecamp: Designate specific times during the day to check Basecamp messages. This approach can improve your focus on other tasks.
Log in to Zoho Mail:
Open your browser and go to Zoho Mail. Sign in with your credentials.
Access Settings:
Click on the gear icon (⚙️) at the top right corner and select "Mail Settings."
Go to Filters:
In the Mail Settings menu, find "Filters" under the "Mail" section.
Create a New Filter:
Click on "Add Filter" and name it something like "Basecamp Messages."
Set Filter Criteria:
Choose conditions for filtering, such as:
"From" contains basecamp.com or the specific email address used by Basecamp.
Choose Actions:
Decide what to do with filtered messages:
Move to Folder: Create a new folder called "Basecamp" to keep these messages organized.
Mark as Read or Star important messages as needed.
Save the Filter:
Click "Save" to activate your new filter.
Test the Filter:
Send a test email from Basecamp to ensure that the filter is working correctly.
To filter Basecamp messages in Gmail, follow these steps:
Open Gmail:
Go to Gmail and sign in with your account.
Access the Filters Settings:
In the search bar at the top, click the sliders icon (🔍), which opens the advanced search options.
Set Up the Filter Criteria:
In the "From" field, type @basecamp.com or the specific Basecamp email address you want to filter.
You can also add keywords related to Basecamp messages in the "Subject" or "Has the words" fields to further narrow down the criteria.
Create the Filter:
Click "Create filter" at the bottom right of the advanced search box.
Choose Actions for the Filtered Messages:
Select the actions you’d like Gmail to take with these messages, such as:
Skip the Inbox (Archive it): Keeps the messages out of your main inbox.
Apply the label: Choose an existing label or create a new label, such as "Basecamp", to organize these messages in one place.
Mark as read: Automatically mark these messages as read to reduce inbox clutter.
Create the Filter:
Once you’ve set your preferences, click "Create filter" to save it.
Review the Filtered Messages:
Check your new label folder to ensure that incoming Basecamp messages are correctly filtered there.
