There are a lot of after-school clubs at AEA. People interested in those clubs have signed up for them and had a lot of fun. Most of the clubs start at 3:00 and last at least half an hour. Here is a brief overview of some of the clubs.
The Pokemon Club meets on Mondays. It is available for all grades. Mr. Campbell manages the club. People who attend this club are able to trade their Pokemon cards with others and duel with them. Each Pokemon has their own powers and attacks, which can sometimes be used to the card holder's advantage. For example, if someone flips a coin and it lands on heads, their Pokemon can deal extra damage to their opponent's Pokemon.
The Anime Club also gets together on Mondays. It is available for grades 8-12 and supervised by Mr. Fulton. Students who join this club learn to understand the concepts of animated cartoons made in Japan. Examples of anime include Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and My Hero Academia.
The Arts and Comics Club gathers on Thursdays and organized by Mr. Zelenka and Ms. Gravatt. The club is available for all grades. Anyone who wants to learn to draw or is good at drawing can join. In the club, students create art and design comics.
The PRISM Club assembles on Thursdays. It is handled by Ms. Murdock and available for all grades. The club is for people who support or are part of the LGBTQ+ community. The club is currently preparing for a big school event near the end of the year.
These clubs are just some of the clubs available at AEA. They allow students to make new friends and connect with other students that have the same interests. Students interested in any of these clubs should join. It just may be worth while.
