The Drake Interview
by Jacob Zmecek
In September, I interviewed Natalie Drake, a senior at Albert Einstein Academy. She is seventeen years old and has been welcomed back to the school her junior year.
Natalie Drake isn’t very good at drawing, but over the summer she drew in a bullet journal and made her own custom planner for the school year.
“It was fun,” Drake said.
Natalie has had many opportunities, but her biggest accomplishment was when she got an extra role in a movie. She spoke to the movie’s producer about it, which is how she got the part. The movie is called “Cherry”.
The worst thing that happened to Natalie was when she lost a family member. Other than that, not many bad things have happened in her life.
Natalie regrets going to Lutheran West because she was an outcast and depressed when going there.
“If I could go back in time and not go to [Lutheran West], I would still go,” she said. “I kind of found myself there. I learned that no matter who I am around, if they don’t accept me for me, then I don’t want them in my life.”
Natalie was born to an amazing family with open minds, kind hearts, and warm hugs.
Natalie was a pretty good kid. Natalie and her sister would bicker a lot as kids, but they never got severly punished for anything. When she did get in trouble, she would be "grounded" but it would only last for around twenty minutes.
Natalie took a culinary class at her old school and when they finished a lesson, she would go home and cook for her family. She’s made bacon, pancakes, breaded chicken, homemade pasta, and a lot more.
Natalie is choosing to complete her senior year online. Although you may not see her in the halls at school anymore, feel free to reach out. She's very easy to talk to.
