After a long summer of hanging out with friends, getting a puppy, and relaxing without the worries of school, Jaquelyn Morton (formally, Natalie Roldan) has started her senior year, and what will also be her 6th year at AEA. She is so excited for this year and is ready and prepared for what comes her way in her last school year. She has been going to AEA since 6th grade and came here a year after her brother, who was attending at the time and graduated.
She had been in virtual classes all of last year but is happy to be back to school. With her first year in Publications being fully virtual, it was very difficult communicating, expressing ideas, and even thinking of ideas. She really would like to accomplish a lot of the things earlier for publications so we aren't crunching it all at the end.
She has a lot of ideas she wants to do when she graduates.
“I want to write a book, so, maybe my book will be out, and I want to become a human rights activist and do stuff like that,” Jaquelyn said. “I want to help a lot of people who deal with abuse, and help disabled children who don't get the help they need.”
Family keeps her motivated to reach these goals and do these things. She attributes this to her Mother and her brother, who is her biggest motivation because of all he has dealt with all through his life.
For lower classmen she said, “I have so much advice but my number one thing is, stay true to yourself and do not let people push your opinions.”
