Our Week in 4K

Monday:

*Our color this week is yellow, our shape is a star, and the Word of the Week is “stop.” * We read What Makes a Rainbow? *In art we used circles to make Cookie Monster.

Tuesday:

*This week in small groups we learned how to make Mat Man, identified position words, and played a game called Bye, Bye Balloon. *We reread What Makes a Rainbow? and found objects in our room that were the colors of the rainbow. *Everyone colored and cut out a shoe for our classroom bulletin board.

Thursday:

*We read Mat Man Shapes. Mat Man is a figure that helps us draw people accurately. *We are working diligently to recognize our names in print. Please help your child identify their name in print at home and verbally identify the letter it starts with. *In Phy. Ed. we practiced rolling a ball into a hoop on the floor.

Friday:

*We reread Mat Man Shapes and found shapes around our room. *Our ending song this week has been “The Funky Freeze.” *During our social lesson we practiced what to do during a fire drill.

Next Week:

We will be learning about the color orange and the shape triangle. Wear orange on Monday, September 25th!

*As fall weather arrives please practice the following coat/sweatshirt skills with your child to help develop independence: putting on the coat, taking it off without letting the arms turn inside out, zipping, and buttoning. *Picture Day- September 28th *WLC Walkathon- Oct. 6th *Waupaca Homecoming- Oct. 6th *WLC Parent/Teacher Conferences- October 12th, Nov. 2nd, and Nov. 9th *No School- Oct. 20th
