Our Week in 4K

May 6-10, 2024

Monday:

*Our letters this week are Vv and Ww.  The Word of the Week is “same.”   *We read Bounce by Doreen Cronin and identified objects in the book that were actually photos and not a drawing. *We identified the difference between a circle and a sphere.  A circle is round but flat like a pancake and a sphere is round on all the sides like a ball.   

Tuesday:

*We read The Family Book by Todd Parr.   *This week in small group we are identifying letters, letter sounds, and letter buddies.  *Creative Expressions Night.  We loved seeing our art work displayed in the commons.  *Mrs. Grams thought we sounded great when we practiced our end of the year songs with her.  

Thursday:

*Everyone colored a ball to display with our May family homework in the hallway.   *Keep sending in the May homework!  *During our social lesson we watched a Wondergrove Kids video about bike safety.    

Friday:

*We read the book The Night Before Mother’s Day.  Everyone brought home two special surprises for their moms.  *During large group everyone chose a ball and after testing their bounciness, we sorted the balls into the following groups: bouncy, little bounce, or no bounce.

Next Week:

We will be learning about the letter Yy.

Additional Information:

*No School- Monday, May 27th  *All library books must be returned to school by May 31st.  *End of the Year 4K/EC Party at the Park- June 5th at South Park from 9:30-10:30 A.M.  Attendance is optional but encouraged.  *Last day of school- June 6th
