Our Week in 4K

April 1-5, 2024

Monday:

*Our letter this week is Rr, our number is 16, and the Word of the Week is “some.”  *Our new study is recycling.  *We read Why Should I Recycle?  *We reviewed our recycling vocabulary words.  *We watched a Scholastic video about the upcoming eclipse.

Tuesday:

  *In small groups we are identifying and sorting recyclable materials, reading the book I Can Recycle, and counting to 16 with one-to-one correspondence.  *We read The Earth Book.   *We made flowers out of different shapes for the bulletin board in our classroom. 

Thursday:

 *We identified opposites.  *We read the book I Stink!  It’s a story about a garbage truck.  *We had fun outside in the new snow!

Friday: 

*We reread I Stink and discussed where our garbage goes.  *During our social lesson we played Musical Dots and practiced being good sports.  *Ask me what new toys I have played with this week.  

Next Week:

We will be learning about the letter Kk and the number 17.  April family recycling projects are due on Thursday, April 11th.

Additional Information:

*No School- April 26th and May 27th  *Creative Expressions Night- May 7th  *Last day of school- June 6th  *End of the Year 4K/EC Party at the Park- June 5th at South Park.  More info to come!

If you have any small/medium non-working electronics or toys please send them into school. We will disassemble the items in our science area this month and then recycle them.  (ex. radio, robot, vhs/dvd player, etc.)
