Social Psychology

Erika Blair '21 went abroad to teach English in Japan following graduation. Beginning in FA22, she will pursue a PhD in Social Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University. Working with Dr. Kirk Brown, whose research focuses on the role of mindfulness in individual and collective wellbeing, Erika hopes to study the potential that mindfulness has to encourage prosocial and pro-environmental behavior.

Catherine 'Kay' Lamar '09 earned a MA in Social Psychology and Evaluation from Claremont Graduate University in 2012. She is an adjunct professor for Mt. San Antonio College, teaching introduction to psychology, psychology of women, developmental psychology and research methods. 

Simon Lutterbie '06  earned a PhD in Social Psychology from University of Oxford in 2010. After spending 9 years as the Director of Research and IT Development at iOpener Institute for People and Performance in Oxford, Simon returned to the US and moved to California. He is now a frontend engineer for VMWare.

Scott Leary '01 earned a PhD in Social Psychology from UMD in 2009. He is a social scientist.

Alex Czopp '98 earned a MS in Social Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2001, and a PhD in Experimental Social Psychology from the same institution in 2004. After spending four years at the University of Toledo, he joined the Department of Psychology at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. He is an associate professor there teaching courses on social psychology, statistics, and research methods. His research examines issues related to stereotyping and prejudice.
