16.1.2. Agreement of tenses with an indicative past

Agreement across clauses with the indicative past is also quite intuitive and similar to English. The past tense can be in either clause or both; if it is in only one of the clauses it is common to see the present tense in the other clause, but you can also use the future tense in the other clause (see the last example in the chart below):
