The congiuntivo passato is formed by using the present subjunctive of either essere or avere, plus the past participle of the acting verb. E.g.,
Temo che abbia parlato troppo.
I’m afraid she spoke too much.
Following are two examples of fully conjugated verbs in the congiuntivo passato: votare (to vote) takes avere; andare (to go) takes essere.

Any irregularities in the conjugation are due to the irregular forms of the past participles
