Passive voice with essere

You can form the passive with almost any verb form of essere, e.g.,

Sono accettata. = I am accepted (as said by a female).

Sono stata accettata. = I was accepted.

Ero accettata. = I was accepted.

Sarò accettata. = I will be accepted.

Other examples with essere:

Un anello è stato comprato da Pamela. = A ring was bought by Pamela.

Mia sorella è stata accompagnata da un’amica. = My sister was accompanied by a friend.

Mia madre è stata aggredita da un ladro. = My mother was assaulted by a thief.
