14.2. Dimunitive suffixes

The most common suffixes in this category are –ino and –etto. They will agree with the noun or subject they are modifying:

una ragazza > una ragazzina             a girl > a little girl

un ragazzo > un ragazzino                 a boy > a little boy

un’ora > un’oretta                              an hour > not quite an hour

un giro > un giretto                             a stroll > a little stroll
