4.1.1. Reflexive verbs in the present perfect

Reflexive verbs in the passato prossimo always take the auxiliary verb essere. The past participle always agrees in gender and number with the subject.  Following are a few examples:

Io mi sono svegliato/a molto presto ieri.                     I got up very early yesterday.

Loro si sono messi/e i cappelli.                                   They put their hats on.

Voi vi siete vestiti/e velocemente.                                 You guys got dressed quickly.

Maria si è divertita tanto.                                            Maria had a lot of fun.

Alberto si è divertito tanto.                                          Alberto had a lot of fun.
