Claire Benevento-12 The cast list was posted and practice started for the 2016 fall musical, Beauty and the Beast.

The list was posted September 1st, headed by the parts of Belle and the Beast, played by Megan Pennington and Alex Grimm. Perhaps the most perfect casting is Bobby Campbell in the role of the dashing but conceited villain Gaston.

The candlestick Lumiere is played by Carlo Tornatore, who banters with Cogsworth the clock, played by Ian Crifo. Angie Cabreza is Mrs. Potts, the mother of the adorable teacup Chip, played by Otto McFarland. The full cast list is posted outside Mrs. Clark’s room and on our website.

Aside from the leads, there are also several small roles given to people who are part of the opening song, “Belle.” The scene includes the entire village in which Belle lives. The small roles include Egg Man, Shepherd Boy, Bookseller, Lady with Cane, Lady with Babies, and Sausage Curl Girl. And of course, we cannot forget the “Vale Millager.”

The first practice was a read-through of the script with all available members of the cast. A read-through gives actors a chance to experience the whole show, which they will not have a chance to do again until dress rehearsals in late November because the musical is worked on in pieces.

Megan Pennington-12 explained that the leads have had several practices to work on their own parts and that there have been two full-cast rehearsals.
