Skylar Petersen-12 All girls who are interested in STEM fields are invited to apply for Meals With Mentors on November 11 at the Science Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Please apply before Saturday, October 21 so transportation can be arranged, and notify Mrs. Tornatore at room 9 in Tech Center if you are accepted.
November 11, 2017, 6:00-9:30 pm – Meals with Mentors (Grades 7-12) presented by Flint Hills ResourcesGirls in grades 7-12 can apply for this unique event where they will meet female undergraduates studying for a degree in a STEM field as well as working female scientists. Participants will see Dream Big: Engineering Our World. The dinner will feature a keynote speaker (Avery Bang president and CEO of Bridges to Prosperity and star of Dream Big: Engineering Our World) as well as group challenges that give girls the opportunity to interact with as many of the attending female STEM professionals as possible. Thanks to sponsors, this event is free for girls to attend. Applications are open! Apply here by Friday, October 27. All participants will be notified of acceptance by 5:00 pm on Monday, October 30.
