Nobu interviewed on Fresno NPR, April 5 2011

This is a special treat.  Nobuyuki Tsujii was interviewed by John Moore of the Central Valley NPR (National Public Radio) in California, on April 5 2011 before his April 6 recital (Fresno, California - April 6, 2011).  It is a rare interview of Nobu by an English-speaking person and rarer still to hear Nobu speaking in English (although only in  a few sentences.)  Through the interpretation of Mr. Nick Asano, his manager, Nobu spoke about the disaster that struck Japan in March 2011, his blindness, how he learned to play a composition, his traveling all over the world, the Van Cliburn medal, etc.  Joe Moore is an excellent interviewer and Nick Asano did an excellent job translating - my hat is off to Joe Moore and Nick Asano.  Bravo, Tsujii san.

As mentioned in the interview, the concert is sold-out, so this is not a show to push tickets.  It was nice of Nobu to agree to do this interview, apparently something that's done with every artist that perform in the Philip Lorenz Keyboard Concert series.
