Continued from 2013/14 Japan Tour. This page covers the stop at Tokyo's Suntory Hall on Dec 13.

Dec 13 Friday19:00 Nobu made the first of two performances at Suntory Hall, Tokyo (the next one will be the last performance on this tour, in March)
Suntory Hall (2,006 seats) is Japan's premier concert hall. Nobu is at home here.
The performance was apparently a great success. Many tweets came up and Yuko sent in a great eyewitness account(please read on). It seems that Nobu played three encores, including "Revolution". This is great news, as I have been concerned that lately Nobu has been playing the same two songs ("Nocturne 8 and "Still we live") for encores since after the first stop. I just remembered looking up the Suntory Hall encore list.

It was a GREAT CONCERT !
More than expected.
今回は、1曲目を弾きはじめる前に、めずらしく時間がかかりました。
入念に椅子の位置を調節していました。
さあ、弾こうとした時、なんと、かすかに他のピアノの音が聞こえます。
さすがにノブ君も気がついて、手をピアノから離しました。
だれかの携帯の音？ まったく困ったものです。とんだアクシデント。
でも、そんなこと影響なかった。
Toruさんが書いていたとおり、すべてがすばらしかったです。
本当にすてきな時間をすごせました。
印象的だったことをいくつか書いておきます。
１曲目が終わった時、まるで全員が息を止めたようなシーンとした空気。
すごかった。たぶんノブ君も感じたはず。
その静寂に感動して私は拍手ができなかったです。
アンダンテ・スピアナートと大ポロネーズはCDでは何度も聴いていたけれど、
生は別物。豊かな音色、緩急のつけかたも感動的。拍手も大きかった！
ソナタ２番の第３楽章、左手の音の響きが絶妙。
１つ１つの音が胸にしみ込みます。自然に目を閉じてました。
２曲目、３曲目のあとは、舞台から下がり、ショパン４曲で１時間。
ノブ君の集中がすごくて、聴くほうも一緒に入り込むので、１時間があっという間。
休憩２０分
リストは、エステ荘の噴水からラ・カンパネラまで４曲続けてから舞台から下がる。
この４曲がまたどれもすばらしい。
曲によって同じピアノと思えないほど音の響きが違って聴こえる。
ラ・カンパネラを絶賛する声が多かったけど、納得しました。
以前にアンコールで聴いた時より、格段にレベルが上がってます。
音の粒が飛んでくるような錯覚。プロムスのアンコールで大歓声になるはずです。
想像を超えていたのはラスト、ファウストからのワルツ。
この曲のイメージが変わりました。
技術を誇示しないで、こんなに素敵な曲にできるなんて！
コンサートの帰りに、この曲がエンドレスで聴こえてました。
アンコールは”ショパンのノクターン８番”と”それでも生きていく”。
終わりかなと思いながら拍手を続けていたら、なんと３度目に突然椅子に。
「おー！」という歓声と”ショパンの革命”の出だしが重なりました。
アンコールは３曲でした。
このコンサート、すごくハードです。アンコールなくても十分満足できます。
でもアンコールはうれしい。最後に革命とは、唖然です。すごい体力。
このコンサート、もう一度聴きたい
This time, before he started playing the first song, he took unusual time to adjust the position of the bench carefully. All the while the sound of the piano from the next hall could be heard faintly. Then someone's cell phone rang, what a terrible thing! But it didn't seem to affect Nobu ... everything was great. I was able to spend a really nice time.
I'll write some of that was impressive.
When the first song was over, there was a deafening silence as if everyone was holding their breath. It was amazing; I wonder if Nobu himself felt it. Impressed by the silence, I held back my applause.
I have heard many times on CD his Large Polonaise and Andante Spianato, but live performance is a different thing. Rich tone, and the pacing was also impressive. The applause was large!
Sound in the third movement of the second sonata, the sound of the left hand was exquisite.
The sound is one that soaks in the chest. I closed my eyes naturally.
The first half of 4 Chopin songs took one hour.
It really seems better to be listening together in the concentration of Nobu. One hour went by in a blink.
A 20-minute break.
Liszt in four consecutive songs from "the Fountain of Este Zhuang" to "La Campanella". All great. The sound is so different that it was hard to believe that they came from the same piano. The La Campanella received rave applause, but I was convinced that compared to when I heard it played as encore previously, the level has gone up significantly. The sound soared, and the great cheer he received was like the great cheers he received in the encore at the Proms. The last work, the waltz from Faust, was beyond imagination. My image of this song has changed. It is not just the showing off of the technique, but such a wonderful song.
On the way back of the concert, I heard the song [in my head] over and over again.
"Nocturne No. 8 Chopin" and "Still we live" encores.
Even as I kept clapping I thought that this was the end, when suddenly he sat on the bench for the 3rd time. Before the cheers stopped he started playing Chopin's "Revolution".
Encore was three songs.
This concert was very demanding. I would have been satisfied enough without the encores.
But I am happy with the encores. The "revolution", it is a stunning end. Great physical strength.
This concert, I want to hear it again!

辻井伸行さん、アンコール挨拶中に、突然ストンと座って、英雄ポロネーズを弾きだして会場がワー！となった。

今夜は夫の待ち望んだ辻井伸行Japan Tour @サントリーホールでした。
夫は本当に彼の弾くピアノが大好きで、唯一チケットを手配して欲しいとお願いされるアーティストです。
今夜の辻井君は東京でのコンサートという事で、とても気合が入っている様子で、演奏中の彼はすごい集中力でした。
今回はChopinとLisztの曲で構成されていました。

愛の夢 (浅田真央ちゃんで有名な)
ラ・カンパネラ
(Fujiko Hemingwayの演奏で知られていますが…)

Nobuyuki Tsujii at Suntory Hall
Tonight was the Nobuyuki Tsujii's Japan Tour @ Suntory Hall that my husband and I looked forward to.
My husband really loves to play the piano, and this is an artist that he asked to arrange for concert tickets.
Mr. Tsujii played the concert tonight in Tokyo, where as usual his playing is very spiritied, and his ability to concentrate is amazing.
In how the spirit is in very, his playing was amazing ability to concentrate.
This time tt was made up of songs of Chopin and Liszt. For me privately, dream of love (famous Mao Asada figure skating music) and La Campanella (famously performed by Fujiko Hemingway ...)
Sometimes gentle, sometimes sad ... it was excellent, and as always his playing pulled the heartstrings. I was crying when the La Campanella came on.

辻井伸行ピアノコンサート

辻井伸行ピアノコンサートに、再び感動しました。
はじめて、彼のコンサートに行ったとき、
演奏中に、”神が降りてきた！”瞬間を、感じました。
若い演奏家のコンサートを聴く楽しみは、
若いエネルギーからほとばしる、
ヴィヴィッドで繊細さいな、大胆さです。
それは、その年齢でしか出せないものなので、
聴いている私自身が、今この生きている瞬間に
釘付けになっているのです。
だから、その演奏家が年を重ねていくということは、
わたしにとっては、おおきな不安にもなるんです。
Nobuyuki Tsujii piano concert
At Nobuyuki Tsujii's piano concert, I was impressed again.
The first time when I went to his concert, there were moments during the performance that I felt, "God has descended."
It is fun to listen to a concert by a young musician,
The outpouring of energy from the young, vibrant and delicate, and bold. At that age, they are living at the moment, and the performance is riveting. For that reason, I am concerned when a musician ages.

前半では、ピアノソナタ2番《葬送》がとてもよかったです。気持ちがこもってました。この曲は、辻井さん自身もコンサートで、弾きたかった曲のひとつだったようです。
後半は、全てよかったです。"エステ荘の噴水"は、初めて聴きました。
愛の夢、ラ・カンパネラは、youtubeで、辻井さんの演奏は、何度も聴きましたが、以前の演奏より、力強さが増したように思いました。
ラ・カンパネラはについては、、フジコ・ヘミングさんの演奏が評判いいけど、sayaは！以前から、辻井さんの演奏もすきでした。
以下のは！以前のものです。これも良いですが、いまは、これよりもかなりレベルアップしているように思いました。
最後の2曲は、歌劇からのものでしたが、素直な中にもかなりドラマチックな要素を含む弾き方で、辻井さんの成長を実感しました。
今年は、"プロムス"へ出演したりり、海外の公演でも高いひょうを受けているようですね！
アンコールは、以下の3曲！
最初の1曲がおわり、辻井さんの短い挨拶が、はいりました。2曲目は、辻井さんの作品で震災後、被災地への思いを込めて、書いた曲！
心に響くメロディですね！
予定していたアンコールは、おそらくこれで終わりぽかったのですが、おつれの人が、辻井さんを袖の方にみちびこうとすると、いきなり、座って革命を弾いてくれました。
彼自身のとっさの判断だったのだと思いました。
思いのこもった迫力のある"革命"でした。

12/13に辻井伸行日本ツアー《ショパン＆リスト》にいってきました。

In the first half, Piano Sonata No. 2 "Funeral" was very good. Feeling had thoughtful. In concert himself Tsujii, this song seems to have been one of the songs I wanted to play.
The second half, it was all good. The "fountain of Este Zhuang", I was listening for the first time.
On YouTube, I have listened to Tsujii playing " a dream of love" and "La Campanella" many times, but I thought his strength has increased from previous performances.
About "La Campanella can", the performance of Fujiko Hemming has a good reputation, and I liked her performance previosuly. Now I think that this is at a higher level.
The last two songs are from operas, but the playing, even though straightforward, incorporates dramatic elements that I see as evidence of the growth of Tsujii.
This year, he appeared in the "Proms" and his performance received high praises.

After the first short piece, Tsujii made a short greeting and played the second song, written by himself after the earthquake with thought of the disaster area.

ショパンのノクターン 第20番、続けて、ノクターン 第18番
柔らかな美しい音色です ... 鍵盤を流れるように動く辻井さんの手は、まるで、女性のように、柔らかで白く、
長い美しい指が、優雅に動き、うっとりするように綺麗です ... うっとりするような、ショパンでした
休憩を挟んで、後半は、リストです。
今度は、先程の、女性的な指の動きとは一転、
やはり元気の良い若い男性だわ～と思える、力強く、パワフルで、とても強いタッチの演奏に、
変わりました。
特に、圧巻は、ラ・カンパネラ
アンコールの力強い「革命」の演奏に、割れんばかりの拍手と、スタンディングオベーションの中、
コンサートは、終了しました。
アンコールも含めて、約2時間20分程の演奏
満ち足りた時間でした

一年に一度は、辻井さんのピアノを聞きに行きます。
今回も素敵な音達をたくさん聞いてきました。
他のピアニストさんとちゃんと聞き比べたことはありませんが、
彼の音色はとても優しいです。彼がピアノを愛していることが伝わってきます。
楽譜というものを見たことのない彼にとって、頭の中でどのように音符が整理されているのか？
想像もつきません。
とても素晴らしい演奏を聞いて、また今回も感動しました。
そして元気を頂きました。
彼もまた、私に生きる力をくれる存在の一人です。
アンコールの最後の最後が「革命」でした。
そこまで体力を残しておくってすごいです。
また来年も、聞きに行けたらいいなと思います。
Once a year I go to listen to the piano of Mr.Tsujii, I heard a lot of nice sound this time.
