On a day off from his 'Appassionata' recital Japan tour, Nobu attended a reception in tokyo for Prince William of U.K.

For the seventh consecutive week, pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii has multiple items on the chart. In third place is the "Maestro! Tsujii Nobuyuki works with orchestra ", its fourth consecutive weeks on the chart. The movie "Maestro!" opened on January 31 and the album includes the ending theme of the movie, composed by Tsujii.

Just heard from a twitter that he was under the impression that Nobu has Down Syndrome because it was mentioned on 13 TV, a network based in Spain.

I hate to seem so negative on (the eve of) Valentine's Day, but here is something else that I came across today that I didn't like.
Please click here to see a flyer for the Sendai performance on Nobu's November Japan tour with Valery Gergiev. The ticket price is 24,000Y to 16,000Y, only slightly less than for the Tokyo performances. Sendai was devastated by the 2011 earthquake/tsunami; Nobu performs there often. I wonder if the average citizen there can afford that kind of a price tag.

A few years ago, a dog that I had kept for 12 years died.
But when he died, my son was at age 3 months.

神戸弁のmiwaの天真爛漫さが魅力的。お新香をいい音で食べる表情も、とてもキュートだ。重たいものを抱えるメンバーたちの中で、明るさを提供してくれるムードメーカーの役割も果たしている。ソロのフルートのシーンで過去が語られ、涙なしでは見られない。
Miwa (lead actress) of Kobe is attractive and innocent. Her expression ... is very cute. She plays a role that gives us brightness among the heavy sufferings of the orchestra members. Her past is told in a solo flute scene, which cannot be seen without tears.
謎が多い指揮者、天道に西田敏行。大工みたいな風体で金槌を粗野に叩くその姿は、とても名指揮者には見えない。それが、指揮棒、いや、大工道具を振るい始めると、次第にその片鱗を見せ始める。
The title role, a mysterious conductor, is played by Nishida Toshiyuki. The figure crudely strikes the hammer of a carpenter, and does not appear to be any famous conductor. Soon we glimpse that he uses the baton like his carpenter tools.
訳あり楽団員のメンバーは、個性的な脇役が勢揃い。古館寛治、濱田マリ、モロ師岡、斉藤暁、嶋田久作と、クセの強さのぶつかり合いで、様々なドラマを見せてくれる。こんな強烈なメンバーがぶつかり合いながらも、徐々に美しい音を奏でられるようになる過程が、実に心地よい。
The orchestra members (played by a strong supporting cast) are caught in the conflicts and a variety of dramas. Through the ordeal, a beautiful sound gradually emerges, really comfortable.
コ ンサートのシークエンスはとても素晴らしくその演奏には感動させられた。音楽は佐渡裕がドイツでベルリン交響楽団を指揮した時のものを使用したということ で、正に本物。それにピッタリと合わせて違和感なく見せる役者たちの演奏も大したものだ。カメラをラジコンヘリに乗せ、会場内を音楽に合わせるかのように 自在に飛び回る、躍動感溢れる画面作りが素晴らしい。
Sequence of the concert of the performance is wonderfully impressive. The music employed is that of Yutaka Sado conducting the Berlin Symphony Orchestra in Germany, appropriately realistic. Also impressive is that the actors play without discomfort together with perfect harmony. The camera was placed in a radio controlled helicopter (a drone), and flying around freely in the music hall, it provided lively images on the great screen.
そ れにしても、2日目のあの場面を成立させるには、もっとその人物との関係性を綿密に描いてくれないと、ただのエゴに思えてしまう。とてもいい感じで観てい たのに、最後の仕掛けに感情移入できなくて残念。演奏が終わってしまえば、跡形もなく消えてしまう音楽。だが、誰かと響き合えることが出来たなら、永遠に なる。この言葉とは裏腹に、本作とは終盤で響き合うことは出来なかった。ただ、辻井伸行のエンディング・テーマは、胸に響く実にいい曲で救われた。
Nevertheless, the depiction of the personal relationships is shallow, and seems to portray only egos. And though it conveys a very good feeling, regrettably I was not able to emphasize at the end of the spectacle. Once a sound dresses someone, it lasts forever. Those words did not resonate at the end. However, the ending was saved by the good song of Nobuyuki Tsujii, which does resonate in the chest.

辻井伸行走下舞台的步态
由于工作关系，有机会浏览国外网站。本来以为争论是中国特色，后来发现它是普世现象。国外的争论，小到一个手机信号塔建在哪里，大到意识形态，价值观念, 包罗万象。当然，大小都是相对的。
其中一个争议是关于朗朗的，比较两极。争议焦点在于朗朗演奏时的表情。据说，盲人听了，更恨苍天的不公。非盲人看了，恨自己那一刻为什么不闭上双眼。
我猜想，朗朗是好意。他的初衷是要帮助听众正确理解作品。为了更好地帮，用上了肢体动作和面部表情。他的目的是要引导。但有些人投诉被引到了马戏团。
我们也经常听到别人告诉我们，我们需要帮助以厘清是非，以杜绝什么什么影响，树立正确的什么什么观，等等。我想大家都是好意。我们揖别文革毕竟才不到40年。我们确实需要别人的帮助。当然这是题外话。
有没有东西是没什么争议的，具普世价值的呢？还是有很多的。这里介绍的，是其中之一，辻井伸行演奏的拉赫玛尼诺夫的作品。这里只是一个乐章，只是为了证明有些东西是没有争议的。
那些乐团成员似乎也很享受，大家可以注意如下时刻8:58 和9:51.
我想，如果辻井伸行去上帝那儿要求三天光明的话，上帝肯定拒绝，因为给他的够多了。
而最让我感触地是他挽着指挥，走下舞台的步态！！！

The Gait of Nobuyuki Tsujii as he walks off the Stage

As part of my work, I have the opportunity to visit foreign websites. Originally I thought it is an assault on Chinese traits, but later I found that it is a universal phenomenon. Controversy abroad involves matters as small as a mobile phone signal tower to as large as ideology, values, inclusiveness. Of course, size is relative.
One controversy is about Lang Lang. At issue is his invigorating facial expressions when playing. It is said that the blind enjoys the injustice of God, while the non-blind should just close their eyes.
My guess is that Lang Lang is being generous. His original intention was to help the audience understand the work correctly, using his body movements and facial expressions to better assist. His purpose is well grounded. But some people have complained that he is a circus-act distraction.
We often hear people tell us that we need to help to clarify right from wrong, in order to strengthen the impact of a correct concept, and so on. I think we all have good intentions. We bowed before the Cultural Revolution, after all, less than 40 years ago. We really need the help of (others' opinions). Of course, this is a digression.
Is there something that is not controversial, with universal value of it? There are still many. Here is one of them, Nobuyuki playing Rachmaninoff's works. Here is just a movement, just to prove that somethings are not in dispute.
The members of the orchestra seem to have enjoyed it, as you will note at time 8:58 and 9:51.
I think if Nobuyuki were to request to God three days of light, then God must refuse, because he has already been given enough.
I am especially moved by the sight of his gait as he walks off the stage in the arm of the conductor!

現在ロードショー公開中の映画「マエストロ」を見て来ました。不況で解散したオーケストラの再結成のストーリーで単純ですが、笑いと涙、そして良い音楽、たいへんすばらしい映画でした。
土曜日の割には観客は12名ほど、あまり人気はないようですが、良い映画ですので、観られていない方は是非ご覧になって下さい。指揮指導には世界的指揮者、佐渡裕があたっています。エンディングテーマは盲目のピアニスト、辻井伸行の作曲・演奏です。
制作がWOWOW FILMSとなっていましたので、早い段階でWOWOWで放映されると思います。放映されたら録画して永久保存版にする予定です。
I ame to see the movie "Maestro", currently on public roadshow. It is a simple story about the reunion of a orchestra which was disbanded in the recession, but with laughter and tears, and good music, it was a very great movie.
But it does not seem to be very popular: only about 12 people were in the audience on Saturday. It is a good movie is. Those who have not been watching, please take a look. There is global conductor Yutaka Sado. And the ending theme music composed and played by blind pianist/composer Nobuyuki Tsujii.
Since the production had become a WOWOW FILMS, I think it will be aired on WOWOW soon. I plan to make a recording when it is aired, so that I will have a permanent version.

辻 井伸行の演奏ばかり聴いていたからか、ウラジーミル・アシュケナージの英雄ポロネーズは落ち着きがなくて忙しい感じに聴こえる。 辻井伸行は滑らかに演奏するけど、アシュケナージは全体的にスタッカート的な跳ねる感じがしている。I have just heard Nobuyuki Tsujii's performance, [it reminds me of the] Heroic polonaise of Vladimir Ashkenazy, without the restlessness. 音楽の力で、心がぽかぽかになります
クラッシックって何だか敷居が高い。そう思っている人にこそオススメの映画です。
揺るぎないものに思えた「古典」がこんなにも身近に、生き生きと胸に迫ってくることに驚きました。
全体的に説明的な台詞が少なく、大切なことは音楽を通して語られた印象です。
何と言っても佐渡裕さんがこの映画のために録音した「運命」と「未完成」は絶品です。また、辻井伸行さんが書き下ろしたエンディングテーマも泣けます。最高です。...

The power of music, it warms the mind.
Somehow people think of classical music as highbrow.
But "classical" can also be surprisingly lively and affecting.
It is hard to describe the film overall, the important thing is the impression that has been told through music.
Let's just say, Mr. Yutaka Sado recording "Fate" and "Unfinished" for this movie is a rarity. Also, the ending theme, newly written by Nobuyuki Tsujii's, is a tearjerker. It is the best ...

評判良かったマエストロ！にしました音譜
映画を観て、目が疲れないかはてなマーク
と思ったけど、邦画だったので
その心配は大丈夫でした( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ
ネタバレしない程度に簡単に感想を書きます☆
音楽はやっぱりいいーー（≧∇≦）
映画の中でも、この交響楽団が最初に奏でる音楽と、
魂を込めて演奏する音楽では
同じ曲なのに 全然違います！！
...
でねビックリマーク劇中の途中に流れる挿入曲と、
エンディングに流れるピアノ曲が
とーーーーーっても素敵でハートキラキラ
それだけで、この映画のサントラCDが欲しいビックリマークって思ってしまったくらいだったのですが、
エンディングロールでチェックしてみたら、
辻井伸行さんでした
辻井伸行さんのCDも欲しいな
できるなら、コンサートで生の演奏を聞いてみたい...

It was a surprise and I thought about a CD for the movie's soundtrack
and kept an eye on the end-credit roll.
It was music of Tsujii Nobuyuk!
I also want a CD of Nobuyuki Tsujii.
If possible, I would like to hear him play live in concert...

I have been waiting to read this blog post from Dr. Masahiro Kawakami, who was Nobu's childhood piano teacher and who, at the request of Nobu, last year coached him on playing Rachmaninoff's third concerto. In a previous blog post he mentioned he would be at the Tokyo performances, and he made good on his words. My humble translation does not do justifice to what he wrote, but you will get an idea. It is especially moving to me that he -- like his fans -- cares about the strain that performing so much places on Nobu. ... As before, I was among the people who visited the dressing room after the performance. It is so great that he is able to satisfy the audience every time. It may be strange to say, but even I think the performance of this day was really great. The demand of physical strength and also concentration is high, but I was absolutely wowed and shaken. And the day before that he also played the third concerto of Prokofiev. The Liverpool Philharmonic and the concerto of tour finally was completed yesterday (1/31). And he can now take a little rest before getting ready for his next solo tour.
Mr. Tsujii is clearly able to switch his life style on and off easily, in a sense an ideal figure for a pianist. His schedule seems to be almost buried until after a year and a half, but, he has included periods on his annual schedule during which he makes no public performances. Busy as he is, he must put in a great deal of effort to properly make time for vacations to conserve his energy.
