Jodo nedir?
Jodo, "kamış yolu" anlamına gelmektedir. Bu geleneksel Japon dövüş sanatları biridir. Jo kısa bir tahta sopa olduğunu, bu 1,5-0,9 m den uzunluğunda genellikle. Bu dövüş sanatları, yaklaşık 400 yıl önce, Muso Gonnosuke tarafından icat edilmiştir. Efsane diyor, Muso Gonnosuke bu savaş sanatı kullanıyor, ünlü Japon kılıç üstadı Miyamoto Musashi kırdı.
Bugün, Jodo kullanışlı ve güçlü bir dövüş sanatıdır. Ama bu bir dövüş sanatı değil sadece. Bu geleneksel Japon kültürünün derin bir anlayış sağlar. Ve aklına eğitiyor,

ABOUT JOINING US
Your experience of sport is not required. If there is no obstacle to daily life, there is no regard for your age. Participation initially, you do not need to own clothes and equipments for Jodo. Over time, if you feel the need, buy them yourself.
But you must always obey the instructions of the teacher and the leader, and you must anytime not forget the courtesy.
You do not need to be fluent in Japanese, but all trainings will go in Japanease, so you must be able to understand everyday conversation in Japanese.
We do not charge a membership fee. But as small token of appreciation, please pay 100 yen before each training will open. In addition, you will need the annual fee prescribed by Kendo Federation.
We do not have insurance of sports injuries. Please pay attention to your own injury. And take responsibility for your own accidents. We recommend that you subscribe to own insurance.
PRACTICE TIME AND LOCATION
Practice will be held on every Friday(19:00-20:30). There will be days when not done so, please check here in advance. Before the practice, we do the cleaning of training hall. If you have time to spare, please come early to help with cleaning.
The location is Tokkatsushitsu (Special activities room) of Kameari junior high school(address:1-23-1, Kameari, Katsushika-City, Tokyo).

Training hall is located at the left hand building looking from school gate on the south side. Go to First floor at the end, look to the right.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENTS
Training is carried out wearing a kendo wear. Its color is black, white, or dark blue. Jacket (上着, Uwagi) and trouser (袴, Hakama) shall be required to be the same color.
When you participate in the tournament, or take a test, you have necessity of Japanese cincture and name tag.
The Standard of equipments are as follows:
Jo (杖, staff)
length: 128cm
diameter: 2.4cm
material: oak (白樫, Japanese white oak, Shiro-Kashi)
Ken (剣, Bokuto, wooden sword)
Total length: 101.5cm
length of grab: 24.2cm
warpage: 1.5cm
material: oak (白樫, Japanese white oak, Shiro-Kashi)
material of guard: hide
Jo and ken used in Jodo（杖道）, Shinto-musoryu（神道夢想流）, or All Japan Kendo federation Jodo（全剣連杖道） are generally in line with this standard. But in some schools, people is using red oak (赤樫, Aka-Gashi) Jo and Ken, so please buy equipments made by Japanese white oak (白樫, Shiro-Kashi).
You don't need to buy expensive equipments. But do not buy shoddy goods. Because in trainings, Jo and Ken is violently bashing each other. So adulterations is very dangerous.
