This student received a recommendation from his teachers for working hard in his classes, even when he doesn't get a lot of recognition. However, that is about to change. Learn about Peyton through interesting questions that I got to ask him. You'll get to see some of his opinions and insights into what he thinks about Waterford High School.
I got to do a one-on-one interview with this interesting student and asked him some fun and serious questions about our school.
Peyton Powers: Peyton is a senior who played Golf and Basketball for all four years of his High School Career. Peyton has always been a great student and only has 2 more months until he blows this popsicle stand.
I first asked Peyton, "If you had a magic wand and could change anything about the school, what would be the number one change you would make and why?" Peyton responded, "I would make the school lunches taste better."
Next, I asked him, "What makes a good teacher/principal?" He said, "A good teacher and principal is someone who makes school/learning fun. They also create a safe environment for every student and make you feel cared about."
Many people like to relate their life to a movie. One aspect of all of our lives is school, so I asked Peyton, "If school were a movie, what movie would we all be in?" To which he said, "Groundhog Day." Groundhog day is a movie where "a cynical TV weatherman finds himself reliving the same day over and over again when he goes on location to the small town of Punxsutawney to film a report about their annual Groundhog Day." Peyton's life at school is pretty repetitive, just like all of ours.
Next, I asked him, "If you had the power to hire anyone in the world to be your teacher, who would you hire and why?" Peyton said, "Hank Green, because he is amazing." You may think you don't know who Hank Green is but if you see him to the right, you will probably recognize him from some science videos you've seen in class. His youtube show, "Crash Course," features videos that put you through a science topic quickly and efficiently.
Is there ever juicy gossip you hear passing through the halls at school and you don't know if it's true or not? Well, I asked Peyton what the best-kept secret on campus is and if he would be willing to spoil it. He said, "Well, my friend pooped his pants on the bus freshman year and didn't do anything about it until the second period when he went home." He wasn't willing to give up the name, but this story is hilarious, nonetheless.
