The First book on the honorary “classic’s” list, is Divergent by Veronica Roth.
If you have not read Divergent yet, it is about a dystopian society that is based in Chicago, that splits its civilization into factions. On your 16th birthday you have to test which faction you get into. The story focuses on a girl named Tris, who tests with all of the factions to choose from, and skills, which means she is “divergent”. Being “divergent” is very rare and could get you killed if anyone found out.
I read this book series over the weekend, and let's just say, I was completely captivated. Throughout the books Tris meets more people and has a steamy romance with one of the leaders in the faction she choses, who is super hot! This book has both things I love, hot romance and dangerous dystopian times. The only thing I did not like about it was the fact that the first book was really good, but it just got worse and worse by each book.

Divergent Thoughts From The Readers:
“Good intro the 2000’s “ I’m not like the other girls” book phase. Tris has a good amount of sass <3” -Julia Cooper
“Four makes my heart soar” -unknown
“Thrilling, scandalous, smooth, makes me feel like I am in the story, and like I am dating Four. Kept me on my toes. Gives you a new perspective of the world.”- Gracie Stengel
The last book, that is truly the birthplace of modern-day “classics”, is Twilight by Stephanie Meyer!
If you are not a Twilight weirdo and have no clue what the books are about, here is my unfiltered short summary.
Bella Swan, a pale loner with no friends, moves to Forks, Washington after her mom moves away with her new husband. While getting acclimated to rainy, musty, muddy, Forks, Bella meets Edward Cullen, a mysterious hottie, with a solid bod and creepy eyeballs. Edward is super shady and acts like he hates Bella in the beginning, but we later realize that Edward is a total simp. Will we find out why Edward is so shady? Are Edward and Bella going to have a very problematic romance? I am not going to tell you, so read this book!
To be honest this book was really good! It does not get a lot of hype because the movies are really 'cringe', but in all things supernatural and steamy, this was great!

Twilight and Divergent are only the tip of the iceberg of steamy, adventurous, and daring Young Adult books of the 2000’s to 2010’s.
