PROM 2022
Gracie Stengel- May 11, 2022
The moment everyone has been waiting for has finally come. Prom is the one time a year the upperclassman get to come together for a fancy night out together. The signature long dresses and suits can be seen all over. Similar to the Homecoming we got to experience in the fall, prom has a more exclusive feel. This year's theme was "A Night On The Town" featuring a red carpet, balloons, lights, and a projection screen with images of skylines.
A new popular feature was the "Promenade". A promenade is an opening ceremony for a grand event where the guests can be seen by others. Students were invited to drive up in a fancy car and do a prepared dance for onlookers. Everyone in the community loved this aspect. Here are some pictures from this event...
Following the promenade the dance began! The DJ kicked it off strong with some line dances to get everybody excited. Even through some technical difficulties the Prom spirit never died. Students began to sing the national anthem while there was no music playing. An entirely random moment made everyone laugh.
Not long after that, as we began to near the end of the night it was time to announce the Prom royalty. This year's Prom prince and princess were Daron Harvey and Josie Elliot. While most had their bets on who would be queen and king no one could say for certain. The 2022 Prom King and Queen were Tyson Moore and Abby Offenberger.
