I wanted to take a moment to express how incredibly proud we are of our wonderful Year 6 pupils. They approached their SATs tests this week with such maturity, determination, and resilience. It was clear to see how much effort they had put in throughout the year, and they tackled each paper with a fantastic attitude. Well done, Year 6 – you truly shone!
Now that the SATs are complete, we are thrilled to be able to offer our Year 6 children a broader range of enriching and enjoyable activities as we approach the end of the school year. This is a special time for them to celebrate their achievements, further develop their skills in different areas, and create lasting memories before they embark on the next exciting chapter of their education.
Wincham's Governing Board met this week, centring discussions on ensuring all children reach their full potential. Governors reviewed the impact of spring term decisions on school improvement, specifically examining pupil numbers and parental engagement. They also supported the school by helping to invigilate Y6 SATs, reviewed staffing, supported decision-making, and considered insights from link governor meetings with subject leaders. Premises plans and staff wellbeing were also key discussion points, highlighting the board's comprehensive commitment to Wincham's continued progress and the success of every child.
Full information about the school governors and the impact they have on school life can be found here.
