This week, our school joined the global celebration of International Kindness Week. We kicked things off with a special assembly exploring the powerful connection between kindness, remembrance, and the pursuit of peace.
Our pupils learned how small acts of kindness can ripple outwards, creating a more positive and harmonious environment. We discussed how, by choosing kindness in our daily interactions, we contribute to a more peaceful world.
International Kindness Week is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the importance of compassion and empathy. It's a reminder that even the smallest gestures can make a big difference. Let's all commit to spreading kindness not just this week, but throughout the entire year. After all, a kinder world is a happier world for everyone.
To further celebrate International Kindness Week, we're challenging all our pupils (and their families!) to perform as many acts of kindness as possible. Whether it's helping with chores at home, offering a compliment, or simply holding a door open for someone, every act counts!
Let's make Wincham Community Primary School a beacon of kindness!
Our school admissions are managed by Cheshire West & Chester Council, who are responsible for ensuring sufficiency of places for all children. Due to lower numbers of children being born in the local area, the LA are consulting on reducing our Published Admission Number (PAN) from 45 to 30 for the Reception year group. This will be effective from September 2026.
The consultation documents are available here.
The proposals will not affect children who are currently at the school, nor will it impact the admission of younger siblings of children who are currently at the school.
I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of positive and respectful communication here at Wincham Community Primary School. The Parents' Code of Conduct was originally shared in September and can be found here.
At Wincham, we understand that parenting can be an incredibly stressful and often thankless task. We know this can lead to strong emotions, where sometimes people say things they don't mean. As partners in your child's education, we value open and honest dialogue. However, please remember that all interactions with staff, whether in person, via email, or on social media, should be conducted with courtesy and consideration.
We all share the same goal: to provide the best possible learning environment for our children. By working together in a spirit of mutual respect, we can ensure that Wincham continues to be a happy and successful school for all.
Our Key Stage 1 pupils had a fantastic time venturing out into our lovely village this week! Wrapped up warm, they embarked on a geography-themed walk designed to bring their learning to life.
The children used their observational skills to spot key features around the village. They talked about what they saw, thinking about whether things were natural (like trees) or built by people (like houses and the shop).
We practiced using compass directions (North, South, East and West) to describe where things were. The children also used words like 'near', 'far', 'left' and 'right' to explain how to get from one place to another.
This exciting outing helped our pupils develop a deeper understanding of their local environment and build essential geography skills. Well done to all our Key Stage 1 explorers!
Thank you to all the parents and children who represented the school at the village's Remembrance service on Sunday. The children recited their poems and were invited up to plant a poppy, each one honoring one of the men from Wincham who died.
Cheshire West & Chester's Autism Advice Team have produced information and advice for supporting children with autism during the festive season. It can be found online here.
Please can I remind all parents the school is a nut free site. Please do not send your child to school with nut based products as we have children in school with severe allergies.
The school lottery is a really easy way to support the School and be in with a chance to win money or prizes. Please consider joining our school lottery if you’ve not already done so to help raise funds for school.

Thank you.
This year at Wincham CP School, we will be supporting Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 12th December. We are asking the children to come to school in their Christmas jumpers, in return for voluntary donations.
In the current economic climate, we understand that buying new Christmas jumpers can be expensive. Therefore, we are asking you to have a look in your wardrobes and cupboards to see if you have any pre-loved Christmas jumpers that you would be happy to donate to school for other families to make use of.
If you, or someone you know, is looking for a Reception place for September 2025, please get in touch.
We have tours of the school each week, so you can see 'real life' in our happy, vibrant school.
It's always nice to have some lovely feedback! Parents often mention in passing how happy their children are, how much they have enjoyed their learning, or how they are grateful for a particular member of staff who has gone above and beyond.
Scan the QR code or click the button below for an opportunity to thank a member of Team Wincham for their hard work and efforts to provide the best opportunities and care.
We're excited to announce that Wincham Community Primary School is participating in the Asda Cashpot for Schools promotion!

It's a fantastic opportunity to raise much-needed funds for our school, simply by doing your regular shopping.
