The budget is already over stretched - we need your support to provide vital teaching and learning equipment and resources to use with the children next year. This includes:
Big blocks set for Reception children (Approximately £3400)
Bespoke speech and language therapy scheme and intervention for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children (Approximately £900)
3 new touchscreens (Approximately £1300 each)
In addition, we want to continue our Forest School provision for all children, but we can only afford to do this through charitable donations. With your support, all children will receive 6 weeks of Forest Schools work next academic year, supporting emotional wellbeing and mental health. (Approximately £4500)
The total amount we need to raise is £12,700.
Our Wincham Family & Friends volunteers are incredibly hard working, and are very excited to bring the fair to you on the 14th. But...
Please spare an hour in the morning to come down and help set up for the event. It'll be a way to get involved in the wider life of the school, meet new people, and to contribute to a great day.
Children in Squirrels class were challenged to make 'human' part-whole models to help them understand how 2 digit numbers are made of tens and ones.

We will use Facebook and Instagram to share good news, updates about what has been going on in school, and forthcoming events. Please be aware that not everything will be on Facebook or Instagram, and the best place to find out what's going on each week is this newsletter.
Each half term, we invite parents into school at the start of the day to spend some time in the classrooms.
Join us for our first 'Stay & Do' event this half term, where you'll experience firsthand how we foster a love of reading!
Spend 15-20 minutes in the classroom, see our teaching strategies in action, and get tips on how to support your child's reading journey at home.
Future 'Stay & Do' events will cover:
Maths calculation strategies 22/11/24
Phonics/ guided reading 9/1/25
Heartsmart Relationships & Health Education (RHE) 6/3/25
Writing 15/5/25
Maths reasoning skills 5/6/25
Let's work together to help our children thrive!
Please do not park at the bus stop at the end of the school day. Year 4 children who had been to their swimming lessons at Brio were 10 minutes late back into school on Wednesday because the bus had nowhere to park.
Wherever possible, please park using the roads around school and walk the final 5 minutes.
Staying well and safe is at the heart of everything we do at Wincham. Children cannot learn if all their other needs are not met. Therefore we work with a range of partners and other services to ensure the wellbeing of children and staff, enabling everyone to get the very best out of their time at school.
As part of our work to ensure good mental health for all, we have published our Wellbeing Commitment for Children, as well as our Wellbeing Commitment for staff as part of the Staff Wellbeing policy. In addition, we have signed up to the Department for Education's Staff Wellbeing Charter.
We believe that with the actions from the children's and staff's wellbeing charters in place, the vast majority of children will flourish in their time at school.
Sometimes, children need a little extra help and support. Issues can crop up where children don't yet have the tools to deal with them, such as bereavement, coping when parents separate, or a complex medical condition. When this happens, we can support in school. Ms Boag-Munroe is our Family Support Worker and is trained as an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant. Ms Boag Munroe can put in place short term support for children who are finding things difficult including Lego therapy, drawing and talking, social circles and a range of other bespoke approaches. We also work with qualified play therapists and art therapists as appropriate.
Sometimes families can need more support. Our Safeguarding team has responsibility for dealing with safeguarding and child protection concerns at Wincham Community Primary School, and act as a source of support, advice and expertise within school.
For questions or concerns about safeguarding at Wincham Community Primary School, please speak to Mr Boot, Mr Bounds or Ms Boag-Munroe. Mr Boot, Mr Bounds and Ms Boag-Munroe receive Cheshire West and Chester Local Authority's Level 3 Safeguarding training for designated safeguarding leads. Members of the Senior Leadership Team and governors also receive Safer Recruitment training.
All staff have regular safeguarding training led by Mr Boot in line with guidance from Cheshire West and Chester Local Safeguarding Children Board
Our school's safeguarding procedures are supported and audited by the Local Authority.

As part of the Safeguarding work, this week we have shared our Child Friendly Safeguarding statement with the children. This was drawn up by the School Council last year, and explains at the right level, that if there are concerns for the children, we are here to help.
If you, or someone you know, is looking for a Reception place for September 2025, please get in touch.
We have tours of the school each week, so you can see 'real life' in our happy, vibrant school.
We have hours available as a Midday Assistant for someone who would enjoy working with children each day. Please ask in the office for more details.
