REFERENCES & QUOTATIONS.

HOW TO CITE YOUR SOURCES | INDEPENDENT LEARNING | PAGE 140

Citing quotations and referencing your sources is an important aspect of academic writing. It demonstrates that your work is well-researched and thoughtful, and also guards against plagiarism by giving credit to the original creators of the ideas. Lots of the subjects that you study require you to craft essays in which you will build upon and respond to research, ideas and words from other authors. Your reader needs to know which ideas belong to you and which come from elsewhere.
