A feature of how our brains work is that we’re capable of doing all kinds of things soon after being shown how, that we can completely forget afterwards. We can perform tasks using our working memory without making connections strong enough for us to remember how to do them later. Be aware of this pitfall: never assume a one-off task means you’ve learned something for sure. You need to practise and review your learning again some time later.
