In history, the challenge is to develop your knowledge and understanding at three levels: 

• Broad, general overview of past societies, people and events that have shaped the world.

• Strong understanding of historical concepts and themes that run through each specific case, linking them together. 

• In-depth knowledge of selected people, societies and events; you can’t study all of history! 

Alongside this is the development of various skills historians use to evaluate sources and to write well-argued responses to enquiry questions.
