My Reflection 10/21/18
This was the trip I had been looking forward to since I was a kid. The Big Apple was the destination I knew I would visit one day to check off seeing the place that so many people dream of visiting, moving to, and starting a new life in. From Times Square to Central Park, these places have been in every movie and TV show I had ever seen growing up. I wanted to be in the same place as these iconic moments and live the New York experience at least once in my life. I had heard so much about how dirty it was, loud, and obnoxious but my fall time experience was completely different. Maybe I was too prepared to encounter these negatives about the city which made it even better, but I met a quiet city with people out and about that simply made me happy. I cannot describe why I found myself smiling from ear to ear in Times Square surrounded by a ton of advertisements but I did and I accepted those moments of happiness all weekend as I ate New York Pizza, took a walk in Central Park, saw the Brooklyn Bridge, and even encountered the leftovers of a wild Saturday night splattered on my subway door because of the community of New Yorkers warning each other not to take a step backwards to avoid it. It felt like an entire city was moving, breathing, and getting through it together and that is why I will be returning... and hopefully soon!Itinerary

My Reflection 10/7/22
This trip, I went with Anna, one of my travel buddies and besties. We walked to every location on our list. There is something magical about NYC, while it is super overcrowded and always bustling, something takes over whenever I visit. I just have an overwhelming sense of inspiration and calmness in the chaos. It kind of makes you realize how big the world is and how many people are figuring it out day to day just like you. I am looking forward to my next trip to check a few more bucketlist items off my NYC list.
