My Reflection 9/29-10/01
VIVA LAS VEGAS! I had the honor of visiting Vegas for a short birthday weekend with my friend Sarah. We enjoyed 2 nights in the city and even rang in my 24th birthday. Seven Magic mountains was the first big stop of our ventures. It is an art piece of colorful stacked boudlers more than 25ft tall by Ugo Rondinone in the middle of the desert and the perfect spot for some cute photos. It was very peaceful near this art piece and a great start to our day. We then visited Hoover Dam and took in the enormity of this construction from 1931. It was very mind blowing to think about the immensity of this project being done at that time without modern technology. We then drove to the Neon Museum where we took in old neon signs from the original Vegas Strip and enjoyed some sunshine at the same time. Lunch was spent at Shake Shack because why not and from there we drove to Red Rock Canyon to spend some time outdoors. We took the scenic drive from the entrance which is a 30 minute total drive from start to finish with several pull off points to stop and take in the views. Being in the desert and surrounded by these massive rock formations really made me reflect on how crazy beautiful life is. I am so blessed to be able to take these trips and connect with friends and nature as often as I do. I always feel re-energized and focused on what is important in life after experiences like this. Exhausted from our busy yet fulfilling morning activities, we took a break at our Airbnb located in the Jockey Club on the strip right next to the bellagio fountains. We then dressed our best and spent the evening at dinner, watching the fountain show, and exploring the hotels. I feel so renewed after this trip and I am so grateful for the friendship I have with Sarah. I entered my 24th year of life with a great friend, new memories, and a re-centered view on living. Essentially a 10 out of 10 experience that I hope to have again one day.
