My first trip to Iceland certainly will not be my last if I have a say in the matter. Immediately upon landing, you are transported into a different world. The landscape is bizarre, with rock formations that look like mars scattered all around purple lupine flowers growing in insane environments. The wind was no joke and made the drive a little more intense. We saw hundreds of Icelandic horses along our drive and a really cool "troll' house that was originally intended as hay storage. We stopped at waterfalls, the black sand beach, the blue lagoon and a geysir area. One of my favorite moments was seeing puffins and hearing the way they plummet through the air to dive for their food. It sounded almost like a plane crossing overhead. I loved seeing all that we did in our few hours there and look forward to returning in the future.
