Did Thomas Call Jesus Almighty God or God?
***What Does John 20:28 TRULY mean?
Here is John 20:28 from the KJV. “And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God
So then, what did the Apostle Thomas BELIEVE after he saw that Jesus was truly risen from the DEAD?
Did the Apostle Thomas believe the SAME thing that all of the other Apostles of Jesus BELIEVED?
In other words, did the Apostle Peter believe that God Himself BECAME a MAN.
Or did the Apostle Peter believe that a MAN APPROVED of God BECAME a God after the cross and resurrection, according to the first Gospel message in Acts 2:22-42?
What did the Apostle John BELIEVE?
For you see, the Apostle John records in the very next verses exactly what he believes and desires us to BELIEVE.
John 20:30,31.
“And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: (And how did Jesus do those signs? Did Jesus perform miracles of healing through his own power as being Almighty God Himself in the flesh?
Or does the Bible ITSELF actually teach us that Jesus healed the sick through the power of the ANOINTING of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him, just as the Apostle John clearly teaches us in John 5:19,30 and John 14:10?)
John 20:31. But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the CHRIST, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his NAME.”
And did not the Apostle John record for us in the Book of Revelation that Jesus was GIVEN a NEW NAME, according to Revelation 3:12?

Did a MAN become a God to Replace Lucifer?
The TRUTH of the whole matter is that some Chritsians interpret verses to mean one way, while other Christians interpret the same verses in ANOTHER way.
So then, the question is, “Which INTERPRETATION of John 20:28 is the CORRECT sound Biblical interpretation and which interpretation is church TRADITION?”
Now, the Trinitarian “INTERPRETATION” of John 20:28 is that the Apostle Thomas is calling Jesus the ALMIGHTY God Himself in the flesh, and not calling Jesus a God under and subject to his God and Father.
And their main argument is that the definite article “the” is before BOTH of the words “Lord” and “God”.
And since Bible scholars make the rules of interpretation, then the definite article before the word “God” to read as “the God” almost always refers to the ALMIGHTY God Himself.
Therefore, Trinitarian Christians argue that the Apostle John must have intended his words to mean that the Apostle Thomas called Jesus BOTH THE Lord of me and THE God of me.
Here is the LITERAL translation of John 20:28.
“And answered the Thomas and said to him THE Lord of me and THE God of me.”
However, in 2 Corinthians 4:3,4, Satan is also called “THE god” having the definite article “THE” before the Greek word theos, and all Christians agree that Satan is not the ALMIGHTY God Himself.
Please read the LITERAL translation of verse 4.
“In whom THE god of the eon this blinds the minds of the unbelieving into the no to be radiant to them the illumination of the well message of the esteem of the anointed who is the IMAGE of the God.”
Therefore, the definite article before the word “God” does not prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that the Apostle John or the Apostle Thomas intended their words to mean that Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY God Himself who BECAME FLESH and remained the fully Almighty God having two natures at the SAME time DURING the days of his FLESH as the doctrine of the Trinity dogmatically demands.
So, again, I ask the question, “Did the Apostle John teach us that a MAN approved of God BECAME a Lord and a God under and subject to his God and Father?”
Or did the Apostle John teach us that an always existing ALMIGHTY God BECAME a MAN as the following three man-made doctrines teach.
#1. The Oneness Pentecostal doctrine teaches that Almighty God the Father Himself BECAME the Son of God.
#2. The doctrine of the Trinity teaches that an always existing God the Son, the second person of a Godhead Trinity God BECAME FLESH.
#3. And BOTH of the above man-made doctrines teach that Jesus had TWO natures, one divine, and one human, at the SAME time DURING the days of his flesh.
But yet, none of those three man-made doctrines are actually taught in the Bible ITSELF.
For you see, there is no language of Jesus having TWO natures at the SAME time DURING the days of his FLESH.
However, the very Apostles of Jesus, do indeed teach us about Jesus having a DIFFERENT nature after the cross and resurrection than he once had during the days of his FLESH before the cross and resurrection.
And the very argument at the council of Chalcedon in 451 AD, was the question of whether or not a MAN became a God, or whether the God BECAME a MAN having two natures at the SAME time.
Here is a quote from another website explaining what the council at Chalcedon in 451 AD was all about.
“The Council of Chalcedon was called in 451 CE by the Roman Emperor Marcian (r. 450-457) to settle debates regarding the nature (hypostases, "reality") of Christ that had begun at two earlier meetings in Ephesus (431 CE and 439 CE).
The question was whether Christ was human or divine, a man who became God (through the resurrection and ascension) or God who became a man (through the incarnation, "taking on flesh"), and how his humanity and divinity affected his essence and being, if at all.”
In other words, ALL Christians at that time in history agreed that Jesus was DEITY or had divine NATURE.
But the question or DEBATE was HOW was Jesus Deity? When was Jesus Deity?
And did the Son of man, Jesus, become deity after the cross and resurrection?
Or did a pre-existing God become a man who remained fully God during the days of his flesh having BOTH natures at the SAME time, one Divine and one human, DURING the days of his FLESH?
Now, the KEY to understanding the God INTENDED meaning for why the Apostle John chose to use the definite article “THE” before the Greek word “theos” is the NEW NAME that the God of Jesus GAVE to His human Son after it PLEASED the Father that the FULLNESS of the DEITY should dwell in him.

And the NAME that was prophesied on Isaiah 9:6,7 is the Mighty God saying that his NAME shall be called the Mighty El WHEN the government is laid upon his shoulders.
So then, Jesus is not yet the God over the whole earth during the world, but to us, as Christians, there is but ONE God, even the FATHER and One Lord, Jesus the Christ, according to 1 Corinthians 8:6.
And in Acts 2:22-42, the Apostle Peter clearly teaches us that the MAN APPROVED of God was MADE both Lord and Christ AFTER the cross and resurrection.
Now, clearly seeing that the Son of MAN, Jesus, was MADE to BECOME a Lord by his God and Father after the cross and resurrection, then Thomas calling Jesus THE Lord of me cannot possibly mean that Thomas was calling Jesus Yahweh Himself.
Therefore, to me, the God intended mean of all of the verses referring to Jesus being called by the title of God, means that Jesus will rule as God, FOR God, and in the NAME of his God having been GIVEN all power and AUTHORITY in the NEW NAME that Yahweh GAVE to him after the cross and resurrection.
And thus, we are to HONOR Jesus, even as we HONOR Almighty God the Father, according to John 5:20-27.
Therefore, the Apostle John would not INTEND his words in John 1:1 to mean that an always existing God the Son named the Word was Almighty God Himself who BECAME FLESH in John 1;14 as Trinitarian Christians dogmatically demand is the ONLY POSSIBLE meaning of John 1:1-18.
But, in the light of the Apostle John cleary teaching us that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God in all of these verses that follow, it should be clear to all Christians that John does not teach the doctrine of the Trinity is any form.
John 1:17.
“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
John 1:20.
“And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.”
Clearly, the Jews were looking for the MAN who was prophesied to be the Christ.
John 1:25.
“And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptize you then, if you are not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?”
Again, the Jews were looking for the MAN who was prophesied to be the Christ.
John 1:41.
“He first finds his own brother Simon, and said unto him, We have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.”
Here is this verse, the Messiah is defined as being the Christ, and the word “Christ” is defined as being the Messiah.
So, the Jews were not looking of a Divine God who became a MAN, but rather, they were looking for and FOUND a MAN who was ANOINTED by Almighty God.
John 3:28.
“You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.”
John 4:25.
“The woman said unto him, I know that Messias comes, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.”
Again, they were looking for a MAN who was prophesied to be the Messiah which is also called the Christ, meaning the ANOINTED of MAN of God.
John 4:29.
“Come, see a MAN, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?”
So then, they are looking for a MAN who was a PROPHET of Almighty God.
John 4:42.
“And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of your saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.”
John 6:69.
“And we believe and are SURE that you are that Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Here we see that the very Apostle believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
John 7:26.
“But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?”
John 7:27.
“Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ comes, no man knoweth whence he is.”
John 7:31.
“And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ comes, will he do more miracles than these which this man has done?”
John 7:41.
“Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?”
John 7:42.
“Has not the Scripture said, That Christ comes of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”
John 9:22.
“These words were spoken by his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.”
John 10:24.
“Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long do you make us to doubt? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
John 11:27.
“She said unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.”
John 12:34.
“The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abides forever: and how say you, The Son of MAN must be lifted up? Who is this Son of MAN?”
John 17:3.
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
John 20:31.
“But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his NAME.”

So, in the light of all of these verses, I implore all Trinitarian Christians to correctly interpret John 1:1-18 in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God that is clearly taught to us in the APOSTLES’ DOCTRINE written in the New Testament.

And after you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
