Who is the God that Shall INHERIT all Nations?
***What Does Psalm 82:1-8 TRULY mean?
Here is Psalm 82:8 from the KJV. “Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.”
Notice that Jesus was made LOWER than the angels FIRST.
And then, after the cross and resurrection, God CROWNED him with GLORY and honor.
This is a PROPHECY of Jesus being RESURRECTED from the dead to be made a God under and subject to Yahweh for the purpose of JUDGING the earth.

Who are the gods in Psalm 82:1-8?
Let us begin this Verse Study by reading Psalm 82:1-8 so that you can see that the God in verse 1 is Yahweh, the Father, and the God in verse 8 is the now GLORIFIED Son of MAN, Jesus, who Yahweh made to become a God after the cross and resurrection.
For you see, Yahweh would NOT need to INHERIT the nations, but we know that God made the worlds for His Son to INHERIT, according to Hebrews 1:1-9.
Psalm 82:1-8.
“God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods. (According to Acts 17:29-31, Yahweh, the Godhead or the head God will JUDGE the world by the MAN whom He ORDAINED and raised from the DEAD)
Psalm 82:2. How long will You judge unjustly, (Or more correctly translated, “How long will you judge evil or the unjust) and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
Psalm 82:3. Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Psalm 82:4. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. (Or SNATCH them away out of the hand of the wicked, speaking of the rapture of the church)
Psalm 82:5. They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
Psalm 82:6. I have said, You are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. (Jesus quoted this verse in John 10:34-36, when he DEFENDED himself from the false accusation that he was making himself God or EQUAL to Almighty God the Father)
Psalm 82:7. But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. (Speaking of Lucifer, now known as Satan)
Psalm 82:8. Arise, O God, judge the earth: for you shall INHERIT all nations.”
Again, the Creator, who created everything and every one who exists, already OWNS what He has created.
So, the God in Psalm 82:8 is a PROPHECY Jesus being RESURRECTED from the dead.
And then, his God and Father CROWNED him with glory and honor to MADE Lord after the cross and resurrection, according to Acts 2:36.
For you see, the Hebrew word that is translated as “ARISE” is the same Hebrew word used in Psalm 88:10 speaking of the DEAD that shall ARISE.
Psalm 88:10.
“Will You show wonders to the dead? Shall the DEAD ARISE and praise You? Selah.”
And we know that we who believe in Jesus will be CHANGED at the coming of Jesus and made PARTAKERS of the Divine NATURE of immortality, according to 2 Peter 1:4.
And we also know that WE shall JUDGE the fallen angels WITH Jesus, according to 1 Corinthians 6:3.
So, I believe that Psalm 82:8 should have been translated as “Arise O Gods, judge the earth and INHERIT all nations.”
For you see, in John 17:22, Jesus said that the SAME GLORY that Almighty God the Father GAVE to him, Jesus will give to us who overcome even as he overcame the world. We shall be made ONE with the Father and His Son, Jesus, even as the Father and Jesus are ONE.
In fact, God created ALL humans to inherit this GLORY but we ALL came short of the GLORY of God, because we all have SINNED.
So God CONCLUDED all humans to be under sin so that He could have MERCY upon ALL humans.
And God’s mercy is His GIFT of RIGHTEOUSNESS that can only be RECEIVED by FAITH in His Son, Jesus, being the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
In other words, Jesus is the ONLY WAY to the Father. So, if you are not a Christian, then I implore you to read the studies under the subject category called What Must I Do to be Saved?
And that is the TRUE sound Biblical meaning of Psalm 82:8, Jesus and we who believe are the Elohim or the God’s who will JUDGE the earth and INHERIT all nations.
As I have said many times before, the REASON that Yahweh CREATED MAN and the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.
And the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
