Book 7 Chapter 7.
The Son of MAN, Jesus, INHERITED a More Excellent Name!
In this Verse Study on John 1:1(b), the second phrase in John 1:1, has some FACTS to consider while studying the CONTEXT in John 1:1-14.
John 1:1 has three phrases that Bible teachers label as John 1:1(a), John 1:1(b), and John 1:1(c).
The lowercase letters “a,b,c” simply mean phrase number one, the first phrase, phrase number 2, the middle phrase, and phrase number 3, the last phrase in the verse.
Now, one of the FACTS to closely consider in John 1:1(b) is that the Greek word “translated” was “WITH” also means TOWARD God.
Here is how the concordance in E-Sword defines the Greek word “pros”, which I believe is incorrectly translated as “WITH” God.

A strengthened form of G4253; a preposition of direction; forward to, that is, toward (with the genitive case the side of, that is, pertaining to; with the dative case by the side of, that is, near to; usually with the accusative case the place, time, occasion, or respect, which is the destination of the relation, that is, whither or for which it is predicated): - about, according to, against, among, at, because of, before, between, ([where-]) by, for, X at thy house, in, for intent, nigh unto, of, which pertain to, that, to (the end that), + together, to ([you]) -ward, unto, with (-in). In compounds it denotes essentially the same applications, namely, motion towards, accession to, or nearness at.
The word “accession” means the following.
“Accession is a noun that refers to the attainment or acquisition of a position of rank or power, the action or process of formally joining or being accepted by an institution or group.”
And that is exactly what has been FULFILLED in the Scriptures.
The Son of MAN, Jesus, ascended up into heaven to JOIN Almighty God the Father to be SEATED on His throne.
This was the DESTINATION of the PROPHECIES in the Old Testament.
Notice that the Son of God was not seated at the right hand of God until AFTER the cross and resurrection.
Here is the prophecy first, and then we will read a FEW or the MANY verses of Scripture quoted by the very Apostles of Jesus as being the FULFILLMENT of the PROPHECY.
Psalm 110:1.
“The LORD said unto my Lord, SIT you at my right hand, UNTIL I make your enemies your footstool.”
Here are just a FEW of the verses showing that Jesus is the FULFILLMENT of the word that was TOWARD THE Almighty God the Father to be SEATED on His throne at His right hand UNTIL the Father has put all the enemies under his feet.
Hebrews 12:2.
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who FOR the joy that was SET before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is SET down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Notice that Almighty God the Father SET to joy of being SEATED at the right hand of the Father on His throne if he ENDURED the cross.
Ephesians 1:20-22.
“Which He wrought in Christ, WHEN He raised him from the dead, and SET him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, (And WE are given the same promise or the same joy set before us to endure unto the end to be saved.
We too are promised to be seated in heavenly places)
Ephesians 1:21. Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
Ephesians 1:22. And has put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,”
Acts 2:32-36.
“This Jesus (The MAN approved by God in verse 22) has God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Acts 2:33. Therefore, being by the right hand of God EXALTED, (In other words, that is HOW the Son of God came to be SEATED at the right hand of God, he was EXALTED by God.
And the Scriptures tell us exactly WHEN the Son of God was EXALTED to be SET on God’s throne) and having RECEIVED of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this, which you now see and hear. (In other words, the human Son of God was GIVEN the power and the authority to send the Holy Spirit AFTER he was GLORIFIED, according to John 7:38,39)
Acts 2:34. For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he said himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, SIT you on my right hand,
Acts 2:35. UNTIL I make your foes your footstool.
Acts 2:36. THEREFORE, (Or for this very REASON that Almighty God EXALTED the Son of MAN, Jesus, the MAN approved by God, to be SEATED at His own right hand on His THRONE) let all the house of Israel KNOW ASSUREDLY, that God has MADE that same Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
So then, FACT number one that must truly be considered in John 1:1(b) is that the Greek word “pros” should be translated and understood that the word of PROPHECY was TOWARD God as opposed to the Word was WITH God.
The second FACT to consider about John 1:1(b) as we interpret John 1:1-14 is that the translators did NOT translate the definite article THE that is before the word God.
And to me, you have to wonder WHY.
In my own opinion, the translators were “Trinitarian” Christians. And thus, they obviously believe that the Greek word “theos” in John 1:1(c) referred to the same God in John 1:1(b).
And since the Greek word translated as God in John 1:1(c) has NO definite article THE, so the translators decided NOT to translate the definite article “the” to say the word was TOWARD THE God in John 1:1(b).
The third FACT that we need to consider is that other translations both before and after the KJV do NOT capitalize the Word in John 1:1 to make it SEEM as if the Word is a separate person who was WITH God in the eternity past to support the doctrine of the Trinity.
And that way, they could “interpret” John 1:14 to mean that God the Son BECAME flesh, as opposed to, the spoken word of PROPHECY being FULFILLED by Yahweh PERFORMING His word to be MADE flesh, according to Isaiah 9:7, the zeal of Yahweh shall PERFORM this.
According to Jeremiah, Yahweh hastens or watchers over His word to PERFORM it.
And Ezekiel 12:25 says the same thing in more detail.
Ezekiel 12:25.
“For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word, and will PERFORM it, says the Lord GOD.”
The word is an IT and NOT a second person of a Godhead Trinity God.
Isaiah 55:11.
“So shall My word be that goes forth out of my mouth: IT shall not return unto me void, but IT shall accomplish that which I please, and IT shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent IT.”
So then, Jesus is the WORKMANSHIP of Yahweh, who the Creator, Almighty God the Father, brought into existence where the Son never existed before.
Psalm 118:22,23.
“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
Psalm 118:23. This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.”
Or this is Yahweh, the Creator’s workmanship. In other words, Jesus is the cornerstone and the God of Jesus LAID the cornerstone which the BUILDERS rejected.
Isaiah 28:16.
“Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste.”
Zechariah 3:8-9.
“Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, (Joshua is a FIGURE of Jesus. Both the names Joshua and Jesus mean the salvation of Yahweh or Yahweh saves. And both Joshua and Jesus were made high priests) you, and your FELLOWS that sit before you: (This is a prophecy of Jesus and those of us who will rule and reign WITH Jesus in the world to come) for they are men WONDERED at: for, behold, I will BRING FORTH my servant the BRANCH.
Zechariah 3:9. For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon ONE stone (The sure FOUNDATION, Jesus Christ) shall be seven eyes: (A prophecy of the seven churches in the Book of Revelation) behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, says the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in ONE day.”
Clearly, Jesus, and his FELLOWS are the WORKMANSHIP of Yahweh our Creator.

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
